This is the Department of Home Affairs Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) mobile application (the app).
The app will allow you to enter the information that is required to lodge a TRS claim. The app will save the information to your mobile device, allowing you to edit the claim over multiple sessions.
When you have finished entering your information it will be stored in a QR code on your device. This QR code is your TRS claim code. You must present your TRS claim code to an officer at the TRS counter on your departure from Australia.
If you successfully enter your claim details using this app, processing your claim at the TRS counter when you depart should be faster and you will be able to use a dedicated queue to lodge your TRS claim.

Absolutely useless
Done waste your time , app will crash on you and you will have to start over . Wasted 30 mins on holiday ! 2 years Go also we still had to wait up event though we done it all online
So let them do the work, there is no added benefit here, unless u have nothing else to do
A long way to go.
I wondered why the app had such a low rating - I now know why. You spend your time entering everything into the app only for the QR code to not be scannable by the agent which then means they manually enter in everything. Waste of time!
Save your money for another country
This app doesn’t work very well and the Australian government doesn’t seem to know know what user experience is.
You have to pain stakingly enter each line item and hope that is saves for longer/multiple receipts.
Not only that, the experience at the office is just as old.
It really needs an improvement
App always shut down when choosing “item category”. Waste of time.
App crashes
App crashes when selecting “iPhone/Smartphone” as Invoice Item with iPhone XS Max running iOS12, so is unusable for me.
