Description

Unreal Remote allows you to quickly and easily test your mobile Unreal Engine 4 projects directly on your development computer!

Use this application alongside Unreal Engine to view and control the development project running on your computer using the actual touch and motion controls from your iOS device. This lets you quickly iterate on gameplay and input features while developing your Unreal Engine game.

Unreal Remote 2 can also be used with the "Virtual Camera" plugin (Unreal Engine 4.20 or higher) to add Virtual Camera functionality to your Unreal Engine Project.

Steps to use:

* Enable the "Remote Session" plugin in Unreal Editor (Requires Unreal Engine 4.20 or higher)
* Ensure your development computer and mobile device are on the same network
* Select "Play in New Viewport" in Unreal Editor
* Enter the IP address of your computer into the app and press Connect

The image from your editor preview will be shown on your iOS device and all touch input on the device will be processed by your Unreal project as normal touch input.

Small Issue

FarhaFamily on

The App Has Been The Winner For Me, But It Gets Laggy Sometimes.

Requires an upgrade to match UE4.26 Virtual Camera 2 Tutorial

Rangi-aus on

The screen shots on the Virtual Camera 2 QuickStart tutorial show build 2.1.119. At time of writing this release shows as Build 1.1. LiveLink functionality is therefore not available and the new Virtual Camera 2 will not operate as described.

Analog sticks missing fixed :)

We love Bumble bee on

I have fixed the issue below. In the UE4 editor settings on your computer under input select allow touch controls. Without tuis selected the analog sticks are invisible. Here is my original issue now fixed - I can connect this app fine it works well but on both my iPad Pro 12.9 inch and the iPhone XS, the analog sticks do not appear when you tap n the grips at the bottom left or right. I have found no reference of this on forums or the web. I’m using the latest iOS on both devices, and a Mac Pro tower with UE4 4.25.1 ( as above fixed now the app is awesome)

Reminiscent of the old UDK dev app

Works fine, just wish you could launch the project into your phone to test it as an app. Maybe it’s a feature that i just haven’t figured out how to do yet.

Currently not working on iPad Pro 11- inch

gothicka on

I can’t get the app to run on my iPadPro 11 inch. All I get is a black scree. Apparently there is a reported bug, related to screen res on this iPad. Hopefully Unreal can fix soon.
