Considering this app mostly works with open source code they didn’t developed, it’s kinda ironic the way they decided to capitalise with a very greedy subscription mode. The app is good but the fact that only allow to turn 10 images (per month) into a pdf is just ridiculous. Used to be great while free, but £30/year to make a pdf? Good luck.
No, I’m not complaining about the pricing. I don’t have any issue with that. What comes with the model is what I don’t like. The AI enhancer is a trap. Both features have potential to ruin the original file and I highly recommend not using them for a big file. All the other features are not really features and they could easily be ‘free’ features just like other apps.
Was a great app, now with the subscription model core functionality will be stripped out and locked behind a paywall. Don’t use this app.
As a long-time user of VFlat, I find the recent changes to their service model quite disheartening. The introduction of a premium tier that significantly limits the capabilities once available for free is very disappointing. It's understandable and acceptable to charge for services that incur ongoing costs, such as cloud storage, AI processing, and OCR capabilities. However, restricting the number of scans – a basic offline functionality that does not incur additional marginal costs per use – seems unjustifiable and a step backwards. It's disappointing to witness an app that provided exceptional value begin to gatekeep its fundamental features all of a sudden, in detriment of their loyal users.
I’ve just started using this and so far I’m really impressed. It recognises languages such as Icelandic, Czech and Slovene easily. It’s much more accurate than anything I’ve used before. By using the ‘share’ function I can save texts to my iCloud folders and work on them as either PDFs or put them into a Word file.

Amazing app. Most appropriated. Making scanning books incredibly easy and accessible with a decent quality and efficiency. No more library scanners ✌️
