Is Viking Voyager free?
Yes, Viking Voyager is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Viking Voyager legit?
🤔 The Viking Voyager app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I love the app but after 5 cruises with Viking, it doesn’t work consistently. By that I mean it closes immediate when you open it. Sometime it freezes.
If you visit the guest services desk, they will instruct you to
1) restart the app
2) stop WiFi, forget the network and try again
3) restart your phone
4) delete the app, re-download it from the App Store and re open
A cruise line of this quality should figure out why this is the case (and has been for the last 2 years) and FIX IT!!!!
Now having said that, I’m still going on more of their cruises because everything else they do is first class. So should their so be!
Major Disappointment
The App provides no value to the overall cruise experience. It is very glitchy and does not always show accurate information.
Can’t open app
There is no sign in or login for this app. I don’t understand why anyone use this app.
Viking Polaris
We are on the lovely Viking Polaris sailing the Great Lakes from Thunder Bay Canada to Milwaukee . Love the smaller ship of only 300 passengers, no one under 18, no casinos & lots of peaceful lounges with soft music for relaxing . Food is fabulous ! The crew & wait staff are wonderful. Everything is first cabin here.
Improvement needed
It would be very nice if on board events that one wants to attend could be added to our individual calendar.
Booking starts on land - will it activate?
The app doesn’t ‘activate’ until one is aboard the boat. Our Heart of the Delta cruise starts with two days in a hotel in Memphis. So will the app work at the hotel? Why not let me authenticate with my booking number & allow me to use the app now?

We are on an anniversary cruise to celebrate our 25th. We wanted something special to mark the occasion.Of course it isn’t cheap but it’s a special time.
When we booked the cruise we really didn’t know exactly what to expect. My wife had been on cruises with other cruise lines and kind of filled me in on what to expect.
We are doing a cruise aboard the Viking ship ‘Mars’. We flew in to Athens, got through customs and onto the Viking shuttle.
They handled all of our luggage. They understood that we had a long flight and were pretty tired. Checked in at the port around 10:15 am. Our stateroom was supposed to be ready at 2:00. When we first boarded, the first thing that came to mind was that we had somehow been transported to someone’s very fancy living room. After a lap around the ship tgere was an announcement that all staterooms were ready for guests.
It’s a stateroom and a little small but just as well appointed as a luxury hotel.
Our luggage was all inside waiting for us. We unpacked and took a power nap then set out to explore the ship.
This ship is absolutely gorgeous. In every way it is truly stunning.
The ads for Viking say “travel the world in luxury”.
They don’t exaggerate it one bit. From the moment we arrived we’ve been attended to and pampered in every way.
Each floor of state rooms has several attendants just to take care of guests. Our attendant, Cheeny, is so nice thoughtful. It’s as if she’s made our comfort her personal mission. She’s gone out of her way to make sure we had everything we want and need. She’s even left fresh fruit and juice in our room with china and cutlery. She’s made sure everything is tidy and clean and that the minibar is always fullI. I can’t say enough.
Almost everyone on board are super helpful.
Very few issues at all beyond a couple minor things.
The food is terrific in all the restaurants. The onboard bars will make cappuccinos whenever you want. The people everywhere are amazing.
The only thing I might add is that the drinks you have are extra. Except during neals.
Overall, I would say that this is the way to travel. My wife and I have decided that when we cruise, we will always go on Viking.
Good App with Great Potential
This app has improved so much from its debut days. It almost could replace the viking daily paper we receive each evening. It does a good job of giving us the itinerary for the current day, the menu for the restaurants, and the calendar for current days. When they think to use it, it is fantastic at sending updated information such as a change of time for an event.
It would be great if it would accurately show your excursions and let you add more. It would also be great if it showed you the open/close times for the restaurants and other venues. I look forward to seeing these features in the future.
Well intended but flawed
Handy for tracking your scheduled excursions and the daily menu. The problem is that tickets will appear and disappear as you approach the day of an excursion (the front desk told us this happens when they actually create the tickets). If your tour includes days off the boat before or after the River portion, none of those will appear in the app… in fact it will act as if your tour is complete even if those days are part of the base package! The questionnaire portion repeated some questions and had no options to leave comments. There’s potential here but some glaring flaws need to be fixed.
