I recently updated the app and since the update, my blender (V1200) won’t run programs. I get the little dot that indicates the blender is connected but the programs don’t load and don’t run. The troubleshooting tip on the app also doesn’t show on screen because there’s a problem there as well that causes the text to not wrap but go offscreen. Poor QA/regression testing before app release on this one. Wish I could revert to the older version!
Vitamix—the Cadillac of blenders
I bought my Vitamix 4 years ago, when I was also able to buy the accompanying scale. The app, the blender, and the scale make creating masterpieces a joy!
App crashes
Love my Vitamix but app consistently crashes or doesn’t work.
Cool at first
At first I like and thought it was a cool app. But I programmed the Siri thing to it, and it doesn’t run the programs as they should, meaning smoothies start full speed for example. Now it’s doing it all the time.
Potential Not Realized
App could be really good but is flawed. When I registered and then attempted to select my Vitamix Professional Series 750 blender, the next screen shown was to select my container, but it was blank with no options. I could not move forward; therefore, my blender was not added to my profile. Also annoying that a pop-up displayed EVERY time I favored a recipe to use Siri. I got it—enough!. Disappointing.
Persistent bug causes iOS to crash
App is generally good but there is a long-standing severe bug. When iOS pops up a notification reminder to open the app (this happens automatically upon turning on the blender when it connects to Bluetooth and would be helpful if not for the bug), if you select “open” the entire iOS will crash / kernel panic / black screen (not just the Vitamix app)
Blender is amazing, app is a disappointment
The app is very clumsy and every part of it feels like an afterthought. At first I thought I’d gotten the wrong one because it makes it seem like you’re supposed to have a Vitamix scale to use it. Setup is awkward and unclear. Once I had it connected, it became clear the app will only be useful when using the pitcher that came with my blender. The food processor offers only a custom program and when I put my aer disc pitcher on it detects as the 48 oz dry container, so none of the programs are applicable except for custom. As for custom, since it only lets you set a single speed on a timer as a one off, I see no value in using the app to do that. It’s easier to just do that on the A3500 itself. The fact that it actually has extra programs for the standard pitcher is the only thing getting it two stars instead of one.
Not a lot of help
Seems the company that makes the Perfect Scale is out of business and you can’t buy the scale. The big pitch on this was that you just place the blender container on the scale and the add your ingredients and it automatically calibrates , no pre measuring required. Therefore most of the recipes are by weight rather than volume making this more complicated than less.
Misreads aer container
Reads it as dry container, which is useless. This apparently has been an issue for a while
Lacking able to Create own recipes
The almond milk recipe does not blend long enough. I wish I could create my own. Blend on 4 for 45 seconds, blend on 10 for 3 mins, blend on 1 for 30 seconds. I love you can have Siri send the clean recipe without opening the app… that is about the only one I use. Due to limitations
