Perfect app and a nice dictionary, keep up the good work Zimmer and the super crew!
Awesome app
Big thanks to Vocabulary app. I have built the daily habit of improving my vocabulary. The customer service is really nice, helpful, and quick in responding to my inquiry. Highly recommended!
When trying to login or setup account, the app keeps crashing on iPad Pro, 3rd generation with current version 18.1.1 even after several uninstall/reinstall and turn off/on attempts. Frustrating.
Their definition is better explained than the average dictionary. Try tapping on “Learn this word” for words you would like to keep in your lexicon and then practice those words in their vocabulary quiz. It’s a handy app.
I’ve been using this app for years, and it’s been a fantastic tool for building my vocabulary. However, my main issue is that it seems like the developer team has stopped actively maintaining or improving the app. This is echoed by other users in the reviews. There are a few features that could use updates, but it feels like no one is checking messages or making the necessary changes. For example, there’s no way to revisit and relearn words I’ve mastered in the past. Once a word is marked as mastered, there’s no option to re-add it to your learning queue, even if you’ve forgotten it. Additionally, when I search for new words to learn, the app sometimes pulls up the definition but doesn’t show the option to start learning the word. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to when this happens, and it can be frustrating. These seem like simple UI fixes, but I’m not confident that there’s anyone on the team actively addressing these issues. That said, it’s still a great app if you’re willing to work around its limitations. Just know that you may need a supplementary vocabulary app to fill in the gaps. Despite these drawbacks, I still use and love the app—it just has its fair share of frustrations.
IOS user can have it for free. Vocabulary.com is a must have app for an erudite vocabulary.
This app works perfectly for me. I can stop using it and pick back right where I left off; there are no pervasive ads or distractions; I can play for either a little time or a long session. I started using vocabulary.com in high school because i got bored of the rice vocabulary game. Recently I have been using it more frequently as it is a good diversion away from scrolling on social media. It keeps my attention and makes me a more effective speaker at the same time.
