Great app

Voices could be better, TTS has evolved far more than the available voices in this app. I suggest enabling support for cloud based voices. Needs to be available in the macos app store as well.

Good app but text to speech is not good enough

The rating may seem harsh, but compared ro Google text to speech this is garbage and not useable.

Perfekt for dyslektikere

Denne appen har en egen, veldig bra font for dyslektikere, og drøssevis av gode talesynteser. Brukte denne appen mye på videregående og vil bruke den mye på NTNU de neste fem årene

Best ever!

Bra, men ikke helt ferdig (iCloud synk, mere enn bare ren tekst visning).

Bra organisering og gjenfinning av innhold, med mange funksjoner, men bør nok fortsatt være forsiktig med iCloud synk uten full backup av enheten. Mere enn bare tekst visning er blitt bra, slik at det det er mulig å se både uthevet og kursiv skrift samt bilder, eller bytt enkelt til bare ren tekst visning, som er slik som før. PDF visning er slik som før, fungerer bra, men avhengig av PDF, kan det være gal rekkefølge i tekst, og mellomrom i ord (typisk etter fi og fl) samt topp og bunntekster ikke adsklit med mellomrom. Funksjon for å ekskludere topp og bunntekster i PDF er nyttig når den virker. Det er også 'Pronunciation Dictionary' som gjør det mulig å bytte ut eller endre ord eller deler av tekst før den blir uttalt med tekst til tale, som også kan brukes til å rette feil i tekst fra PDF. Utover å bare erstatte enkelte ord er det mulig å bruke 'Regular Expression' for å erstatte tekst, for eksempel slutten eller begynnelsen av et ord angitt med \b, og kan gjøres avhengig av hva som kommer før eller etter tekst å erstatte. For å fjerne to versjoner av myk bindestrek på slutten av linje i PDF før uttale virker det å bruke "\b - \n",2,Y,"",0. og "\u00AD \n",2,Y,"",0 som burde ha vært ordnet uten. For det meste brukes vanlig bindestrek på slutten av linje i PDF når ord er delt mellom to linjer, som kan fjernes med \b- {1,2}\n\b, men kan gi feil uttale for sammensatte ord.

Simply the best!!!

Truly the best app of it's kind! With it's capability of speaking ANY written text out loud, handling Daisy books, the vast variety of fantastic voices and it's newly added iCloud syncing option, it makes this my number one method of accessing, organizing and reading my books and texts for my university degree. I am visually impared, but this will be a great resource for people with normal vision. It has all you need to get by and navigate in many different ways, you choose your own custom settings, playlists, voice ontrols etc. It is DEFINITELY worth the moneu!!! Thank you for this app❤️

Love this app!

I use this app every day for reading books, web pages and pieces of text. Many different voices available in different languages. My personal preferences are for English are Heather (female voice, USA) and Tyler (male voice, Australia), for Norwegian Olav and for German Julia. They are all from Acapela and must be purchased in the app. The app is easy to use and has all the functions I require. I have not experiences ant malfunctioning in these years I have used the app.

I have been waiting for an app like this for many years. In the future it would be great if there were an intelligent way to read PDFs (main text only without header and footer, particularly footnotes).

The best synthetic readin experience ever

Never before in my history of using synthetic voice readers, I have had experiences as good as whith this app. It caches content from a varity of sources. And as a lov vision user, this app also let me customize color and font settingss in a very useful way. Although the voices are externals, the experience of read spanish whith a voice bought through this app, give me an understanding of spanish pronunciation bether then hear a spanish human voice speak.

Begrenset nytte

Det burde ha vært mulig å markere hva som skal leses på samme måten som du markerer teksten for å sette inn «gule tusj-markeringer». Jeg tenkte bruke den til akademiske tekster, og lytte til en rapport når jeg pendler med bil, men det blir helt uforståelig når absolutt alt på siden blir lest opp, også referanser (forfatternavn, tittel på forskingsrapport, sidetall, årstall osv). I de fleste akademiske rapporter er det mange slike referanser, og navnene på greske, polske, finske forskere osv. klarer ikke den engelske eller norske stemmen og lese ordentlig, så det blir bare rør ut av det hele. Du kan legge inn tekst som skal hoppes over, men det måten det er lagt opp til passer kun for faste topp- og bunntekster.
