A lemon

Hur1s on

United Kingdom

Honestly such a terrible app for the amount of money paid for the subscription. And it’s not complicated. It’s just showing videos on demand. It’s slow and laggy, and almost impossible to cast or connect to a bigger screen. Other apps don’t have this issue. Since the update it never remembers where you were last watching, so if you leave the video and come back you have to scroll through to get back to the last point. Good luck using the tiny controls on the video though.

Dire design, poor usability, flaky performance

Uatu the Watcher on

United Kingdom

This is a dismal app. The vaunted “facelift” has evidently been executed by people with no conception of accessibility guidelines - tiny red text on a dark blue background? I ask you. The app does not remember which round is live, so you have to navigate to a different round from the one it opens on every time. And worse than all this, the live streaming is unreliable, routinely cutting out at any point in a match and not resuming until some time later. All you get is a little “content not available” message. It’s a scandal that this is the only option available to AFL fans outside Australia - maybe if Fox had some competition they could produce something usable. You have no choice, but you’ll be wishing there were something - anything - else available.

Subtitle issues and on demand playback issues

Hansiger on

United Kingdom

In iOS when game is live I can’t start from beginning so always ruins the game by starting the live stream Also I cannot turn off subtitles

Terrible

Ben Toscano on

United Kingdom

Simply a bad app, made even worse by the decision to introduce closed captions, with no way to turn them off, which cover the fox footy scoreboard.

Improvement in 2024

Lion!Br on

The 2024 updates fixed most of the issues. I’m now mostly happy with the app and the video functionality. A massive improvement from previous seasons.

This is the worst app

Tristo7 on

United Kingdom

For years this app has been terrible. The most simple things don’t work. The number of replays that are ruined because it randomly jumps to the end of the game. The times it just decides not to work. It is more expensive than any other streaming service I subscribe to and is utter ….

Another season still not fixed

We pay good money and yet again the app does not work at the start of the year

Please update!

Nickilo36 on

United Kingdom

Please, for the love of all that’s holy, is she and update. So many times when a game has finished and you choose ‘start from beginning’ it takes you to the post-match wrap-up, with the result being disclosed. It frequently crashes, and does not have Picture in Picture - a features that’s been on other video apps on iPhones for years. For how expensive this is, we really deserve more!

Greedy bunch of *^%#

nickinlondon2004 on

Don’t sign up with this app. They’ll sell you a “Pass” which is actually a recurring sub. Then ghost you if you want to cancel. This year $48 to watch the Granny. Lol no.

Terrible App

Corey_CW on

United Kingdom

When you have to pay a hefty subscription fee for overseas access to the AFL, you’d expect Fox to commit to something half decent. However, this app is super buggy and it feels there’s no consideration to the UX. Consider not leaving Australia if you love Aussie Rules…
