A must if you live in fire country

One of the few apps that I pay for. Instant data. Support the effort. Subscribe.

App has everything!

This app is spectacular. It has everything. I used to use 3+ sources and now I only need one. Not only does it have active fires, alerts and updates, it shows red flag areas, evacuations and what I love is it has AQI and the wind direction! There are also the satellite detections- MODIS and PIRS. This is a game changer in keeping me and my crew safe when we are out working in the field. Wish this existed 10 years ago! Its free but everyone should donate and keep this app available into the future.

Review

Love the app - generally up to date and easy to use. Paid for premium to view aircraft and although it is showing active air resources in the south there is very limited or non existent resources showing in the north of California. My husband is a pilot and his aircraft is not being shown. I think this could use an update. Otherwise great app. Will update if bugs are fixed.

Watch Duty - the only source of fire news

We’ve lived rural for 36 years and have seen lots of fires large and small, near and far. Watch Duty covers them all, with warnings and updates. The news is hit and miss, if the fire is small or maybe not cool good luck finding any current information. With this app you know if the fire is near, far, contained or growing. Plus you get evacuation status. It’s all a close to real time as one would expect.

This could save your life

A friend who used to be a professional fire fighter told me to get Watch Duty. A year later a fire broke less than a mile from my house and the wind pushed it in our direction. Thanks to Watch Duty, I knew before any of my neighbors and was able to quickly share the news and help everyone prepare for the evacuation that began less than 20 minutes later. I'm now a supporter and if you live in an area where wildfire danger is a concern, you should too.

Very well updated

My son & nephew fight fire & it’s great to keep track of where their are & what is happening. Stays updated well an we know what goes on around us as well. Filled us in on a level 3 for ourselves.
