This app provides access to ZEF Energy's network of public chargers, allowing drivers to find a charger, start/stop a charging session and pay for their session costs in a secure and simple way.
It also provides drivers with a ZEFNET-enabled charger a way to monitor and control its usage. If your charger is participating in a utility program which restricts charging at certain times, this app provides the ability to override some program restrictions in order to charge in an emergency.

Yes, ZEFNET Charge is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is ZEFNET Charge legit?
⚠️ The ZEFNET Charge app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Every time I open the ZEF Energy app, it logs me out, unless I'm logging in again on the same day. Today, when I tried to log in, I got a "Too many requests" error, even though it was my first attempt. My login info is auto-filled by my password manager, so it's definitely correct.
I'm disappointed. ZEF has the biggest charging network in Minnesota, but after three years, the app still doesn't work properly. Additionally, the maintenance and security of the DC fast chargers are lacking. I've seen several chargers using ABB Terra cables, which have been cut for copper theft.
Please improve the app and the network. Despite these issues, I still prefer supporting a local brand over national ones.

preloading is ridiculous. i now have money on the acct that i will likely never use again. most of the other ev chg’g stations chg you for what you actually use. this is obviously a money making process for them for all those that leave a few $$ on their acct and never use them again. all this and they still chg you $5 just to hook up.
Garbage
The app is garbage, the chargers are garbage, the support is garbage. Nothing works. Stay far away from ZEF chargers and don’t plan on them working for your trip. 3 DOA on me in the last week alone.
Not Good
The app works once or twice. Any subsequent attempt results in a black screen!! Nothing. I delete it and download it again to get one or two uses. Repeat. Seems totally untested and when it’s tested it fails.
Needs work
Can’t add more than one home charger to the app.
Terrible app experience
From mandatory account signup with annoying password requirements to lack of integration with mobile payments and even lack of autofill on many fields in The signup flow to making it mandatory to add to your balance even if you still have money on your account, this app experience is clunky from beginning to end.
Unambiguously the worst charging service
Almost nothing works. Usually doesn’t connect to charge, often will not allow you to end session forcing you to disconnect with the emergency release, the “balance” system results in wasted money, and all of this for a price higher than almost any network. This is without a doubt as bad as it gets
No way to report malfunctioning chargers
They really need add some way in the app to report chargers that are displaying error messages. The one by my house has been out for days. Seems to happen a lot in the cold…
No App Charging Speed
Nowhere on the app does it list the charging speed, just the type of charger. Being that ZEF charges by the minute and not by the kW, the speed of the charger is paramount.
Worst app worst charger.
Should be able to easily tap and pay to charge. Like any gas station. This system is never working and I know how to use tech. The app glitches and will also glitch after charging. Horrible company I hope they go under. What a waste of space on my phone
