A Game of Thrones: Board Game

The game itself is great and works well but there are some annoying bugs that you have to avoid to be able to play the game. 1 being that you can’t rejoin a game once you have left. 2 being that if you swipe the notification panel for the top of the iPad, it will disconnect you from the game. 3 being that when I bought the DLC, I could only play it once then it was unplayable and I have to buy it again to play.

Played the physical version with friends and having the joy of playing it here is fantastic. It has actually helped me understand the game better and change my strategies! I hope and ask the developer to please include the Mother of Dragons expansion. It would be awesome to have a go with that as well

Very irritating that sometimes it refuses to load saved game. Also had a problem with a card event where it was waiting forever so I had to quit and reload - thus running the saved game gauntlet. Makes it seem a bit flakey which is shame because it’s a decent game apart from the problems.

Great Awesome Game ….. When you get 1 and it works. Never seen more then 7 people online in a lobby. Waited 45 minutes once to get a game and it bugged out 1p min in

So, the game itself is OK - reasonably faithful reproduction of the board game, a few inefficient numbers of clicks and slow animations but basically fine. The multiplayer though (which is really why you want to pay 15 dollars for a game like this, right) is super sucky… played four games today and had to forfeit two of them as the server screwed up, constant synchronisation problems, frequently get kicked out and have to rejoin, at one point the chat from a previous game is already forfeited (due to technical faults) was coming through my chat window in a new game with new players. It’s not a fast game either (though faster than the board game, a game can still take 1-2 hours) so it’s a lot of time you potentially invest in a game that ultimately you can’t finish because of server problems. I really wouldn’t recommend now but will update this review if Asmodee sort out the problems with their multiplayer servers.

I played the board game with a group of 4 and now we play regularly as a group of 6 using this digital version. Love the game and this is a great adaptation which captures everything from the board game. I’d recommend if you have a few friends keen to try something new and want something to fuel the brain with something strategic for a few hours every week. There are some game breaking bugs which I suspect are either due to the new expansion or the link from IOS to other platforms but I have faith these will be ironed out in the near future. I played the Steam version on a Mac from launch and this initially had some game-breaking bugs but fixes were quickly introduced.

It is clear that once created, they have put no additional $ into continued development or maintenance. Regularly kicks players on the phone app f frequently. Depending on what group you’re playing with that means you might just be expelled entirely after having played a few turns with your friends. Very disappointing for $10

Very fun game and speeds up playtime compared to the physical board game. However, the DLC sometimes doesn’t sync with your app purchases and is unavailable to use.

Chat function is broken during in-game play. There is a mickey mouse fix available, but utilizing it is tedious as it must be done every single chat use. Even worse, the slightest screen swap (even just scrolling the clock screen slightly) will throw you out of a Waiting Lobby; thus, forcing you to re-join the lobby. If you are thrown out of a game during a "lost connection" or a "time out" the bots WILL make moves for you and WILL NOT make these moves in your favor. There has been instances where the bot will attack and/or raid Allies you have made. Do not buy this for mobile. As a bonus: multiple Asmodee accounts can be made; thus, 1 user can be playing as 2 or 3 players at a time. Solo is fun and/or private games. Better on PC but not in multiplayer due to cheating and game-breaking bugs. You have been warned
