Elevate your Arccos Experience with LINK:
The small, ultralight wearable allows Arccos players to capture their shot data without having to carry a phone on the course. LINK seamlessly pairs with the Arccos app and sensors. Worn on a player’s belt, waistband, or pocket, it tracks shots in real-time – including the club used and precise location – and automatically transfers the data to a player’s phone via Bluetooth, either during or after the round. This allows golfers to play the game their way, freeing them to keep their phone in a cart, bag, back pocket, or elsewhere.

Data is awesome, but lots of finicky aspects

First off I’ve used this for about a year and the attention to detail at times is good and at other times is severely lacking. First off, the app itself doesn’t have a way to play to a temporary green. The course I played on had a fairway temporary green but the app didn’t allow for the flag to be moved off the green. This would be useful if a temporary fairway green is in place or if GPS isn’t being precise enough which can affect putt distances. Second, I’ve had 8 sensors of the original 13+5 replacements die on me from 2 separate batches. It always seems to be from the same clubs at the bottom of the bag. 3rd I’ve encountered issues with the sensors staying in the grips. I’ve had to resort to glueing the screw in sensors in because the sensor grip kit doesn’t make economic sense. They’re 2 times the price of the normal grips and don’t offer replacement grips only. You’d have to rebuy a whole new smart kit set from what I’ve seen. At least hot glue can be removed and the sensors moved once my current grips fail. And finally, having the Apple Pay button in place since it’s required but setting the price at $0 and failing on the backend is a dirty workaround to not paying the 30% Apple tax. Not everyone wants to manage their subscription through your app with a difficult cancellation process. In fact, this practice may become an FTC violation soon with the click to cancel rule in which case you’ll need to change your policy. Also, the beta dashboard still hasn’t been shipped in >6 months. There’s also very obvious opportunities to start publishing better data about which brand clubs are more consistent, forgiving, longest, etc but we’ll probably never see that data. This has me wondering what the actual purpose of the subscription is for if we’re getting a snails pace of upgrades and fixes that make this questionable if it’s worth using anymore.

Freeze

I often find the ask caddie function freezes, come up with error, sometimes multiple times during the round

Awesome response time and great product

Packed full of features and I recently had a couple of sensors fail and it was so easy to sort. Updates keep coming too. A great product!

Superb product

Great product that works very well throughout NZ. Picks up 99% of non putting shots and offers great stats etc. The companies service re updating holes or dealing with any issues is 2nd to none and they are always trialing new things to take the product to the next level ie Apple Watch and Link.

8 club minimum to be able to track

I wish it was advertised or more prominently if it was advertised that you need at least 8 clubs in order for the tracking to start. A bit ridiculous that you can’t track with just one club whether it is an iron, wedge, putter, hybrid, etc. unless I am missing something you are forced to have 8 clubs.

Great idea…

If you want to spend every hole correcting your scores and shots by all means get this. I can’t believe this is a product anyone can recommend

Great tool

This is a really great tool for beginner golf course. I don’t know how long the clubs are. That on top of my clubs getting longer and longer every time I play I’d never be able to keep track without my Arco sensors 10 out of 10.

Usually works great, but please add more zoom out!

My biggest gripe with it so far is the screen limitation when viewing the hole. There are times when my ball goes past the green, or the Teebox is further back than the app thinks, but I’m unable to either add the shot, or edit the shot because it’s off screen and the app doesn’t let you move it or zoom out that much. It seems like a weird limitation. This is very necessary if for some reason it thinks my first shot on a particular hole is a shot from the prior hole

Are you considering Arccos?

I started using Arccos when I purchased a new set of clubs in 2020. Ping offered a promotion where the Arccos grips were paired with my new clubs and the first year of access to the Arccos service was free. How does it work? A sensor is built into the butt of the handle of your grip. It is unassuming and does not change the look or feel of the grip. The sensor pairs to your phone via Bluetooth. The app offers a detailed map with GPS overlay of your position on course. Once you select a club for play, the app recognizes your club (sensor is light activated) and the sound of hitting the ball is registered by your phone/ watch / or the arccos “link” ( a wearable accessory that eliminates the need to carry your phone around the course). Once on the green, you walk to the pin location and hit a button on phone/ watch / or the arccos “link and this marks pin placement on the green. Once you hole your putt, you can review what positions and clubs were selected by the app to insure accuracy of what the app interpreted vs what you actually did. The gps tracking and the ability of the software to give you distances (front, middle, back) of green are great, but many apps offer this as a feature. The real value comes after you’ve accumulated several rounds of data. Arccos then compiles your play and offers insights into strokes gained over every facet of your game. This allows for focused practice and for strategy changes on courses you frequently play. They offer MCC or tour velvet grips. If you are happy with your current grips, they also have the Arccos sensor that will attach to the butt end of your grip. They also have super strike putter grips. Cost is currently around $155 per year. Again, many apps offer great GPS data for shot planning. The value comes from the insights in Strokes gained (or lost) and can help drill down on where you need to improve.

Does the job well!!

Was hesitant in purchasing on the start. However the app & sensors have worked great so far. Like the fact that it doubles as a range finder! I link it through an iPhone and it has missed a stroke or two, but it is a rarity. Would most definitely recommend and would purchase again as well.
