Not really impressed. Probably 1 time in 5 that we try and remotely engage with the socket it’s ‘offline’ but none of the troubleshooting suggestions apply. Frustrating

Very good and useful and easy to use install.

I purchased a so-called BG smart socket from Screwfix. It has proven an absolute nightmare to connect, and after wasting 2 hours with it still no connecting it’s time to throw in the towel and return it. It has a smart connection mode but this doesn’t work - unlike on every cheap socket or light bulb that I’ve bought from Amazon which simply connect in seconds, this BG socket puts up a heck of a fight. The alternative way to connect is the manual mode known as APP, where you’re forced to connect it to your WiFi manually. After repeatedly trying, I can inform you that this doesn’t work. There are many competitors selling these, many of which use the Smart Life app, which in my experience is easy to use and reliable - unlike this BG rubbish. Of equal concern is that users are forced to turn on location services so your phone and presumably the socket can track your location - or in the case of the socket, know when you’re away from home. A serious security risk. Worse still, is that users are forced to turn on precise location, so the app knows exactly where you are, and can report this to whenever BG wants. The distributor, Luceco PLC is UK-based, so I will report this security risk to the ICO.

Super easy to install and use the timers have been excellent for the outdoor Xmas lights this year.

The Outside socket and the App are infuriating. The app is frustrating to use as set up fails 9 times out of 10, due to poor hardware/firmware on the socket losing connection every couple of weeks you end up wasting hours. App works ok once connected!

App is ok - kind of works as expected but the socket is unfortunately super unreliable

Have a few of these sockets dotted around my front and back garden, app works well when I use it. I like the features like locking sockets etc

We have about 20 of these smart downlights, I thought it would be good to change colours and atmosphere. But every single time you turn the lights off, you need to pair them all up again. That’s completely useless and makes the wife utterly mad. Not really sure what to do, other than spend hundreds to replace them with something functional instead. Ripoff.

After having this plug installed, it’s been working well, but for some reason it logged me out of the app and lost all my details Can’t find the double plug and every time I log into the app, it’s telling me to add a double plug when it’s already been done lost all information

Purchased a Luceco ‘Smart’Security Floodlight to be used with the BG App. Tried everything from the instructions, it will not connect.
