Carly — OBD2 car scanner

A great product until something goes wrong. After paying for a subscription for 3 consecutive years, and having not used the product for 1-2 years, upon using it one day I suddenly realised my subscription had lapsed mid-term. I raised a support case with Carly who fixed the problem immediately, however they refused to tell me how long it had been lapsed for. My argument was that if it had expired for more than 1 year, I’d want my money back, as I had been paying for a service which had not been available. They then repeatedly began closing tickets without answering them, pretending that they weren’t getting my emails, like an immature child, and refused to help me, despite me being overly polite. I will never use this company again and will instead use Bimmercode, who are much better. AVOID.

Although the app itself isn’t too bad, please be aware when you purchase you are purchasing a yearly subscription fee, Carly will not remind you that the subscription fee is set to auto renew or email you in the upcoming weeks of the renewal happening. So like in my case I, I no longer had the car I used Carly for and therefore had no use for Carly, As I wasn’t using it anymore it never even crossed my mind until I see £80 taken from my bank. Which they will not refund…. So please be aware and don’t get caught out yourselves…

Bought this to code a few things on my BMW like flash indicators & beep when locking the doors, put the windows down on the key & a few other things. Also used it to fault find a few times & couldn’t fault it at all.

One star is to much, my obd diagnostics isn’t working and there response was. We appreciate all your efforts and cooperation. After consultation with the developers, a technical solution is unfortunately not possible at the moment. If and when we will be able to solve this is also not certain. As a rule, this means that a solution may even take over a year. However, since the OBD function is not included in the annual license and is provided free of charge, we are afraid that we cannot offer refunds or other benefits.

The annual subscription is not worth the cost you are better getting the Bimmercode or bimmerlink app that has no annual fees if you are a bmw owner The worst thing trying to cancel the subscription is not easy at all, I emailed them trying to cancel my subscription and because it’s via a portal on their website they will say you never submitted a cancellation request. I then chased them up again a day before my subscription renewal they said they didn’t receive my request and because I haven’t given them two months notice to cancel an APP they are going to bill me again. PLEASE AVIOD THERE ARE BETTER SOLUTIONS OUT THERE Also the coding is very limited on this app for a BMW all bmw drivers should get the bimmerlink app it’s far better

This is an amazing app and so easy to use. I would say a must for anyone who is interested in fixing or knowing what’s going on under the hood.

A total waste of time. Try and contact them ! Nothing works, feels like a scam

I’ve had the app for a number of years now and used it to program several features to my car and check diagnostics It’s a good app but recently I’m getting errors with the diagnostics so have reached out twice to My Carly help and nobody bothers to respond, poor really

***WOULD BE ZERO STARS IF I COULD*** Used Carly for a number of years, even having a pre-annual subscription account. And it was fine until recently their software allowed me to do some coding Bimmercode blocks as it makes the iDrive unstable. I won’t state what as it would give Carly an opportunity to rectify the issue, and I will not give them any assistance in the same way they gave me none. This iDrive coding crashed the module leaving it an expensive paperweight and needing a replacement headunit. Carly did some very brief troubleshooting then stated their developers had no fix, wouldn’t have one for at least the next year and just offered an app refund. When I challenged them that I’d prefer assistance to resolve the issue their software caused, they hid behind T&Cs and offered no further help other than to offer a refund, seemingly to just go away. Absolutely avoid at all costs.
