Chordbot

This is a powerful and fun song creator. My gnarled fingers can’t play a keyboard, and the interface here lets me choose the chord lot, type, duration etc all from the screen / menus. This is surprisingly wonderful for creating synthwave, which is a feature I didn’t expect when I bought it. The main benefit to me is that I can very easily take a written chord progression and translate it to sound. All the rest is an excellent bonus.

Chordbot is fantastic. I can not stress that enough. If you write songs it’s one of the best apps to have. It would be even better if it had a few little tweaks like the ability to enter chords via a text prompt instead of having to push multiple buttons. I understand the use of hearing chords and seeing the others .. but if you already have chords ideas and just want to experiment with different timings or sound combinations it would be much easier to be able to type something like slashes for bars and the txt name of the chord for example “ Em/// D// G/“ It would also be great if you could load custom sound fonts or modify strumming patterns. Add in a few more options for the random chord progression generator Then this would be beyond perfect. Not sure if the developers read reviews but I hope this gets through to them in time for the next update 😊

Sadly, Chordbot doesn’t show up as a MIDI device in Audiobus. This instrument would really shine if it were able to “play” other sound-generating devices.

I have used this app for many years. Very inspiring indeed. Would love a Mac version?

The new interface is harder to see and unintuitive. A good example of how to wreck a perfectly decent app.

Chordbot has always been the only comping app I've been comfortable with, but the new streamlined UI in this latest update takes the few annoying elements that were present before and minimises them. All options are easily accessible, you still retain full control of the sound and flow of your song, and all transitions between option screens are fluid and painless. Great work guys!!!

Crashes with iOS8 please fix!

I've been using Chordbot for over three years. As a songwriter this is a fantastic tool, enabling me to experiment with feel and chord voicing. Highly recommended.

I'm learning bass and this is fantastic for giving me a full band to practice with at home. Great job!

Wow, new update, new mixer and lots of sounds.. Be great to have some new preset styles down the track, but it's not a big issue, as for practicing along on guitar it's probably beneficial to have the backing pretty smooth and unobtrusive.. Any plans for audiobus support?
