Donkey Republic

I stayed in Barcelona for 2 days but I couldn’t find a plan this short. So I bought a three month plan which at the time, I thought it was the best option. But I was wrong, and surprisingly enough the customer support when I asked to cancel my plan, they told me by themselves that there was another smaller plan (I just couldn’t find it) and they returned the difference of the money I paid!

Χωρίς λόγο και αιτία μετά από κάθε ενοικίαση ποδηλάτου , σου κρατάει και κάτι παραπάνω ! Πάρκαρα το ποδήλατο σε μέρος που η εφαρμογή έγραφε ότι επιτρέπεται και μετά από λίγες μέρες με χρέωσαν 20€ γιατί λέει ότι ήταν σε λάθος μέρος παρκαρισμένο , ενώ η εφαρμογή με άφησε να το παρκάρω εκεί !

It was not a pleasant experience. For starters I could not find the bike. The application was inscribing a different name from the one I had in front of me, so that’s was a problem because there was no other in the neighborhood. Next the bike I rent was not in a good condition, meaning the rear brake was not good and the horn was not working. Finally we got charged (and correctly) for not leaving the bike in their spot. We leave it in the center in an bike parking lot where other bikes where. The problem is that we could not find the designated spot to park the bikes. So the overall experience was not pleasant and we will not use it again. Two stars because at least the front brake was working and the tires were pumped.

I used donkeys in Rotterdam. These bikes have proper breaks, a couple of gears and you can even leave the pedal stationary as you bike. Overall it's a proper bike! Usable and fun. (Would be nice to be able to rotate the map though!)

The bike was really good it was comfortable and in good state. What I would change: 1. The pricing: it could be a little cheaper and maybe offer a free testing first ride 2. Better instructions before you start using the bikes out the unlocking and locking process 3. The locking part in the end was really difficult and there was a problem with my bike About the last point, I was trying for more than 5 minutes to lock my bike so Jess charged for a second hour without riding my bike. But I sent an email to the company and the replied instantly that they would charge me only for the one hour after all. I recommend it for a tour in Barcelona with a bike.😃😃

They charged me 12€, because their app crashed, for a ride that cost 3€. Be very careful, there are better alternative choice in the town. The customer support never reply to my email. Never again.

I used it in Copenhagen and it was very smooth. Very easy to get a bike and also end your rental whenever you want at the designated parking spaces. I had some issues with the GPS showing my location wrong but that might be my phone or the cloudy weather. In all, try it!

And Unfortunately, the bikes are often broken. Out of nowhere, I often get this really annoying pop-up message prompting me for Bluetooth access. I’m not using the application and have not used the application in quite a while so it doesn’t make sense that the application is prompting us to gain access to Bluetooth. The message looks like this in Danish. “ "Donkey Republic" vil bruge Bluetooth til nye forbindelser Du kan tillade nye forbindelser i Indstillinger. “

The bikes can’t be dropped off near my location (which is not far from the centre, but far enough apparently), therefore they are useless, unless you live in the centre of the city
