Regular updates to both this app and the Ecobee thermostat have been reliable after a few bugs with the app a while back. I recommend and administer a mixture of 14 Ecobee thermostat models for friends and family since launch in 2014. In my view Ecobee thermostats have the best Pro features for home heating and AC operation. The news that the updated screen interface of the 2022 models is coming to the earlier models is great news and shows Ecobee products are designed and supported for a long life.

The Ecobee App was excellent when I first installed my Thermostats approx 4/5 years ago. It is now the most unstable unresponsive heap of crap ever. When it seems like things have settled down a bit, it is updated by some idiot and becomes almost unusable again. Ecobee are constantly ‘fiddling’ making a bad thing even worse. Sort it out and leave it alone!!

Widget no longer displays temperatures - surely the most critical information for a thermostat! Just tells me subscription required.

Extremely slow loading app.

Whatever the update was, it doesn’t work... And honestly I have seen easier automation setup processes Once things are in place great but till then it’s a little painful

The app and thermostat are pretty easy to operate. However I have Hold Duration set to “Until You Change It” and it still changes on its own. This is beyond aggravating. I want it to let me control it 100%. It seems to be trying to guess my schedule. I like to turn down the temp about an hour before I go to bed and raise it a few degrees once I wake up. My schedules are not always the same so often times I wake up early on my days off because the house it too warm. Also, I have 2 additional temperature sensors in the house. I wish it had an option to set thermostat to operate off of one of the additional sensors at the push of a button instead of only on schedules.

The bill was the highest ever ever since we started ecobee. More than doubled. The apps good not the price anymore

This is our first smart thermostat. Easy to use and intuitive .

Don’t know when this began but I have noticed that the app indicates “fan is running” when it isn’t. Tapping the arrow link does nothing. In general the firmware and app have lots of bugs that never get fixed.

Not happy with the app, it’s adjusting the temperature to 8F lower at night itself. I don’t know what to do, the support doesn’t exist and it’s a simply a frustration. Don’t know how would I feel waking up at 65 when the autumn will be here. Not happy with the Ecobee app.
