Thorough!!! I use it nearly every day. Straightforward and easy to use and etymological insights are deep and easy to understand. Interface (esp the iOS app icon itself which is over detailed and not very Web 2.0-3.0) could use a tiny facelift but that’s all I can say negative

The website is phenomenal, but the app has ads. This would not be so terrible, but having to pay a subscription to enjoy an ad-free experience is robbery. Why not charge people for this app instead of asking for subscriptions? I’m better off using the website.

This is a great tool for writers, novice to professional, as a handy reference in looking at the origin of words and their meanings. This app includes PIE; Proto-Indo-European sources.

When I’m on the lookout for an etymology app, I always try to keep my ne thing firmly in my mind: My political ideas have no future and I keep them to myself unless provoked. They tend toward the -isms that begin with anti-anti- and take root among the kind of people who are steamrolled by developments, murdered by revolutions, and forgotten even in footnotes. I deplore politics based on herd and tribe and demonizing of the other, which means most of it. What else? Dogs and I don't get along. I'm trying to think of qualities that matter to people's weighting of integrity. I haven't watched television since 1994. It might have been '96. I put ketchup on hot dogs and mustard on french fries. Smed Butler, the fighting Quaker, is in the family tree; so is the Sundance Kid: Men well-known for doing what they shouldn't be doing. When I played World of Warcraft I found I generally chose a rogue. Human. Female. So in conclusion, this is an etymology app.
