Great Western Railway

After living abroad for years I was pleasantly surprised to see GWR offering digital tickets via their app. Up until the point the app refuses to log me in using the exact same credentials that work on the website. And no work around to get hold of the tickets. I see GWR’s incompetence has followed it into the 21st century.

Still don’t under why companies that develop apps such as this do not have Apple Pay as a payment choice. Mobile ticket apps should be as seamless and very easy to use and reduce the amount of typing to a minimum. Please in 5.0 add Apple Pay.

If your idea of an app is one that constantly tells you that it, “can’t complete your request at the moment due to a technical issue”, then this App is perfect for you. If you are looking for an App to actually complete a purchase of train tickets, keep looking.

Unreliable, logs off faster than any other app. When off, doesn’t allow access to any ticket information and it’s all cloud based. Ignore 5 star reviews, they push users for reviews at moments when they are unlikely to give an honest review. This app is poorly designed and executed from an UX perspective.

Would like to have some more ‘joint’ stations or options. Eg Bristol parkway and Bristol temple meeds listed together as a preference.

Still not that easy to use

Very good to see train times 👍

Generally OK for basic use, checking times and accessing tickets. Would give it a higher rating BUT the app constantly logs you out of your account, often at the worst times. There’s no FaceID so you always have to go to your passwords and it takes a while to log in. When you’re at a busy gate this isn’t ideal. Also tickets don’t always work with your wallet. Hit and miss on that. Sort the access and wallet issues and a def 5 star.
