As soon as I click to reserve the room it says “oops the deal you saw earlier is gone but you have these other great options” that don’t fit what I want at all! Such a scam
Scan. I referred 15 people to get $425 off of hotels…then I try booking one and my card declined…I tried all my debit and credit cards and nothing and they have money on them all. You can’t get a hotel on the app at all
On 11/08/2023 my husband and I booked a weeklong stay in Waikiki Hawaii at Waikiki Marina resort at the Ilikai from August 5, 2024 to August 11, 2024. After flying 10+ hours to Hawaii. We arrived at the resort just to be told that Hopper had mishandled our reservation and they will be relocating us, as they did not inform the resort of our booking until the resort ended up being fully booked with no rooms available. Hopper never notified us and they did not provide the resort with information pertaining to where we would be relocated. After the kind resort staff had used three of their phones to try to reach hopper customer service, we waited an hour and finally got through to a woman who told us that the only thing she could do was refund our stay and relocate us to a comparable resort in quality and value. She only gave us one option which was a three star hotel on the outskirts of the city with reviews detailing cockroaches, and poor quality. We told her that we were expected to have nowhere to stay for a week and we would like to try to resolve the issue in some manner, again, pleading to relocate us to a comparable resort because this clearly was not comparable. She said we had no other option. Upon arrival to the property, we noticed that it was in incredibly poor condition and called Hopper back this time getting a man. We tried to explain this situation five times over the phone for an hour and 10 minutes. He then hung up on us. We called Hopper back and by some stroke of luck, we happened to get this man again at which point he pretended like he didn’t know who we were and told us he will just have to refund our stay again but this time we would lose $197 due to “hotel” fees. We waited on hold for another 40 minutes. We explained that this was hoppers mistake twice yet he said there’s nothing he can do. He also stated there’s no supervisor available to talk to, and they were unable to compensate for our full stay despite the immense distress they caused at this point. We privately booked at a new hotel that cost us an additional $600. We have yet to receive our final refund from Hopper and every time we call, they state they cannot help us. We are missing $982 of our money due to Hopper not refunding us. They have lied, stolen our money, grossly mishandled our reservation, and now refuse to even give us an explanation as to why we had to end up booking ourselves. At this point, why use Hopper if it’s safer to just book yourself? They are a SCAM an

The hopper app customer service corrected my error and have redeemed themselves.
I’m a longtime hopper customer but some of their new features, like price freezes, have errors in the app causing you to make duplicate non refundable purchases on prize freeze. I spent time on the phone with customer support and because I accidentally forgot to add my second passenger to one of the price freezes they weren’t considered duplicate bookings and they wouldn’t refund me. The experience left a sour taste in my mouth and I likely won’t be using their services again.
