IFTTT - Automate work and home

I had multiple applets in 2022, changed to 2 to keep free version in 2023 and now in 2024 they don’t work as now they became pro features since they connect to the web…

I’ve tried to use this applet to send an email of my fitbit daily step goal when goal is reached to a specified email. This applet worked at first then eventually stopped working. I keep trying it in and off but it’s never been fixed. Last time it worked for a bit was in 2022. Annoying to have to manually send daily screen shots of my step goal achievements via email when an applet could easily enough do it automatically. Please fix.

This app was built on the back of the original users who supported this platform long before it gained mainstream traction. And then they punished us all by switching to a ridiculously expensive paid scheme and didn’t allow the original users to be grandfathered. Highway robbery. 0 stars if I could.

Well. Nothing is free to make. This being said, randomly changing the rules sucks. Usually, it means the company became unstable and may die in the next few years. They Failed to find a proper balance between paid and free version.

It pushes the paid service wherever it can. Layout and config is confusing. Not user friendly at all

Real bad customer experience. Was informed with a 6 days notice that my plan will double in price. When cancelling subscription, they offer to view a yearly plan but this was not a view, but a charge button. Was billed a full year right away, without being informed of the price, without consent. And… no refund possible.

I had two webhooks that I used for my garage door. They were free, worked most of the time, good enough for free. Then they made webhooks part of their paid only plan but said don’t worry, peoples existing applets are safe. Then they cancelled you account because you aren’t making any new applets so you must be inactive but if you want to activate it again you can buy pro version and get your two applets working again so I can pay $60 a year for something that usually works. Easier to just delete the app to be honest. Everyone needs to make a buck I guess so can’t fault them for that.

They recently just changed everyone’s legacy plans, which they said they would honor the price of forever, to a higher price. Stay away from these people.

IFTTT promised pay what you want pricing for life and just stopped that. That’s called lying. And full cost is ridiculous. We should consider suing them.

In 2020 they reduced their free services and offered subscribers the ability to set our own pricing ‘indefinitely’. Recently, they backpedaled on that agreement and charged everyone AT LEAST double (with no notice for many of us), claiming the old package was no longer available. Meanwhile, almost every company has stopped supporting them over the past 3 years, so the app no longer does the majority of what it did when it was free. Seems like the other companies had good reason not to work with them
