I really love this game. It is calming but also satisfying. And I do highly recommend the paid version. Except for one thing. My 3 star rating is because there’s a glitch in the program that causes massive delays from between clicking on something and that something actually loading. It even happens sometimes after the game has loaded and I’m tapping letters and nothing happens. It also happens when I get a text or other notification. The whole game lags. It used to be a minor annoyance but it’s been getting progressively worse so it’s become quite aggravating. I’ve been playing this game for over 1 year. Wish they would just fix it already.

Every few weeks, sometimes twice a week a daily puzzle is not credited as being completed so your ‘streak’ ends and you need to complete seven more games to restore your streak. I complete the daily game, click back to the beginning to ensure it has been credited as completed with the date and time I completed it, and still receive notifications the next day, I did not complete that game. It is very annoying.

As noted elsewhere, the app is often slow slow slow. Slow to load, slow to change to other puzzles, slow to complete. A big frustration is the absolutely frustrating brain-dead algorithm which jumps from cell to cell, often during entry even, jumping to random cells and causing next entries to overwrite a correct entry. Totally annoying and frustrating. If they cannot write a reasonable algorithm they should offer the option to shut off the stupid one.

With Knotwords you can pick all 3!. not only does it make you feel smart enough to solve the puzzles but it’s also actually fun, the app is so clean and sleek. And the developers have done such an amazing job being unobtrusive with their paid content not getting in the way. Like a friend you want to go on vacation with but has healthy boundaries about financial management. I’ve successfully “tricked” people into getting into it by pretending I couldn’t solve half the puzzle. They solve it and go wow that was kinda fun. Fun and unique word puzzler that engages you differently than a traditional crossword. Less trivia and more problem-solving. There is lots to do for free, which is nice, but there is also a lot you can pay to unlock. The free path centers around doing daily puzzles and keeping a streak going, while the paid path will unlock archives of puzzles, and some of the larger ones.

Thanks for fixing the game. I love it. It’s challenging and fun.

Knotwords is a really cool and innovative twist on both classic crosswords and the anagram puzzles that litter the App Store. I’ve played through the free content and I’d highly recommend it. This should be a 4.5 star review, but I don’t want to negatively affect the developer, so I’ve rounded up to 5. Just two QOL things holding it back: 1. Difficulty settings: I’d like to be able to choose from a small/medium/large puzzle. I’d even be okay if this feature was paywalled. Wednesday/Thursday challenges are the sweet spot for me 2. An icon/shortcut to puzzle-in-progress. Imagine being partway through a puzzle, then leaving the app briefly to answer a notification. The app refreshes while you were gone for two seconds, then you have to click through Daily Challenges —> Classic —> Archive —> then click click click to get back to the right month, then finally select the puzzle you were working on. Otherwise, it’s pretty much perfect anagram game

This is the best 20$ I ever spent!

I love this game. I’ve played it for about a year and paid the $6.49 for annual subscription. Opened it today to realize there is now a lifetime payment at a good rate but they clawed back the archive and tricky daily puzzles I could play. AND I just paid the $6.49 for another year. It would be nice to have the $6.49 I JUST PAID to the one time price. Great app but you guys are greedy shisters. ☹️
