Kobo Books

Have had a Kobo account for many years and the app is really handy especially for when travelling super light. The only drawback is you can’t access the store and order books directly from the app. Maybe something to think about for the upcoming updates 🙏🏻

The dictionary gives two definitions: one in the language of the book and one in your native language. This is a very useful feature. Just highlight the word with your finger and the options will come up.

Great app for reading anywhere. New 2023 version has issue with settings that keep reverting to default. Really irritating but other than that love it.

Ничего не понятно . Подключиться невозможно , нет синхронизации с apple. Но самое ужасное нет русского языка . Хочу вернуть деньги

As Kobo started already selling audiobooks I’m missing AppleWatch app to listen to them on the walks or run. Any chance this can be done?

They only sync the books from their library between devices, which is useless for me as I only read my own uploaded epub books. Now, considering that the kobo reader is not of much use itself, as it is laggy and annoying,I think I will switch to a decent company alltogether. Wasted money on the device.

It doesn’t remember the last read page most of the time. The highlighting is hard to use. The dictionary lookup is clunky and it’s not the default iOS one 80% of the time. And the dark mode isn’t across the whole app. Honestly you’re better off with the kindle app. I tried to use this instead of the kindle but it’s awful.

It’s the perfect ebook platform for studying, research etc.

I have this app for years and I love it. New update is a bit complicated though. And it has a tendency to freeze sometimes when I return to reading after being away from it. Keeps saying it’s loading. I find if I go out of it and go back into it again this helps though so it’s not too bad. I still love it and I recommend it to all my friends. Updated review; the freezing problem has been fixed, thanks kobo for listening. If I could suggest one thing it would be to be more clear on books that are part of a series and the order that they come in, for example if you put book 1 beside the title as well as in the synopsis. It’s disappointing to get into a story and then realise you’ve missed the first book. But I still love kobo and would highly recommend it to all.

The functionality is not particularly intuitive hard to find the commands you want no apparent access to the main site if yo want to get more audio books Really need a rethink to clarify and simplify
