I dabble with media arts, videography and photography. For me this app is really great for on scene edits to see if shots feel right together or just for simple edits when I’m feeling like doing work not at home, away from my desktop. Features that would make this app truly great for me would be: 1. Proper masking tools. If I could have a pen tool and key frame the mask it would blow my mind. 2. Audio scrubbing. Making videos to the beat of the music is not very fluent on the app, since you can’t go frame by frame and hear exactly where certain sounds are. The only way is to look at the waveform now, which I still appreciate. Other than that, I love the ability to use LUTs, edit from an external drive, ability to export a fcpx xml and most importantly, how smooth the playback is on my 2020 11” iPad Pro. That’s if you keep the projects fairly simple. Price, quality and quantity ratio is great, only wish for these two additions.

After adjusting volume on seperated audio clips, static noise appeared and i was not able to remove it. Even after setting everything back to default. Had to redo the whole project again.

With the latest iOS updates or for whatever reason the app keeps on freezing and taking forever to load my new projects. I had to keep closing the app and reopening too much to continue editing my project. More error notifications I have ever experience experience before during the exporting process. Little disappointed. it’s a great app, but if this keeps happening, I can’t renew for another year.

I’ve been using LumaFusion for quite a while and it would work good back then but later on it started getting more buggy and buggy, and it started getting me more frustrated to use. That this point I’m kind of annoyed that it bugs up so much

I’ve only been using Luma for 3 days and it is not working. I’ve been trying to add sound effects but they just won’t play. I added some sound effects earlier in the video and they play but when I added another it just wouldn’t play which would make the other sound effects not work and I’ve tried everything from checking the audio levels to restarting both the app and my iPad and still nothing. Another issue I had was exporting, I would try and export and it would “finish” but a error message would pop up saying something about “Optimize your footage” I tried that 3 times and still exporting didn’t work. I wasted my time and money on this app.

I recently finished editing a five-minute long 4K video on my Mac M2 16RAM, with 60fps, 48khz sound, with a few titles and minor animations, and everything went great. Sure, super HD video can be overwhelming for a device like that, but if Lumafusion continues adding new features for effects, it could soon compete with the giant editing softwares.

This app fills a gap between a full blown editor like Premier and something too simple like Canva. It’s easy to use, yet packed with features. Fast. Easy.
