Intuitive eating VS controlled consumption, Macro Factor strikes the perfect balance in between. I like knowing how much I’m eating so I can properly fuel my workouts, recovery, and life. This app has helped me gradually increase my caloric intake so I can do more while feeling better.
I have no complaints except that sometimes the search function does not work very well. For instance, I needed to log 6oz of generic whole milk but I had to dig past a lot of things that were not even close to whole milk. Once you find the ingredient or food you're looking for, it will stay in your recent searches, so that's good.
For the active perimenopause woman, this app is working. Finally found this tool after years of logging and following prompts from cbt apps with little progress. MacroFactor gives me easy interface, quick food logging and makes sense with science. Toss the old pal and chatbots and give this one a try.
Works like a champ, has an ai feature, scan barcodes, doesn’t get any easier. It’s been a week and I’ve lost 1.5 pounds already while maintaining a decent muscle mass. Yes, it costs money, but it’s a tool, and it’s worth it.
It’s not even fair to compare this app to others. Way ahead of the competition. If you like to ‘nerd out’ give this app a few month test. Sweet graphs, interactive platform with so much variation in tunable features. I’m an engineer, that’s my big boy job, if you like accurate metrics look no further.
“Free app” that you actually have to pay a subscription for. Bad bait.
Bought solely to support Jeff and the value he provides on YouTube. Early suggestions: 1) give a way to hide the “track progress photos” section. I’ll never use that and it takes up space. 2) the “Nutrition Overview” is great but it’s buried behind clicking the Food Log and clicking the upper-left menu icon. I found it by accident and would love that view to be more accessible. It seems kinda redundant to the “Nutrition Explorer” on the Dashboard, which is a less useful view because I’m limited to 8 highlights and the expanded view is too large to easily skim. Please make “Nutrition Overview” easier to get to instead. 3) this is advertised as a cheaper way to get advice from a personal trainer but, as far as I can tell, it just tracks your meals. No workout suggestions, no meal recommendations, really nothing else other than storing a food log (so far). I hope it continues to expand as it looks promising overall.
I really wanted to love this app. I was impressed with the scanning speed and was excited about the evidence based approach. However, not having Australian barcodes in the database was a deal breaker. I’d 100% be a subscriber if they added functionality for Australian consumers.
