I’m really enjoying this app. Yes, it’s a paid app and it’s a bit expensive (which the reason for the 4 star rather than 5), but by comparison I’m paying $80 for History Hits which just slightly less, and I find that the content on this app is of much higher quality. I’ve only had the app for a short while so I can’t content on the volume of the content but so far I have hours upon hours of documentaries I’m looking forward to watching.
Definitely worth the money.
Won’t let me play. It keeps kicking me out each time I try to set up a free trial. Very disappointing. In Canada on IPad
I'll summarize by saying that a veritable plethora of video/audio play issues exist. I'm used to Netflix kinda smooth. That's the benchmark, for me, as far as video play/quality/everything except content basically. I'm also not an expert so... Content on Magellan is looking really good and I may just subscribe anyway with the hope of improvements. Seems like they just gotta work the kinks out of the app to get the 5 star that the content appears to deserve.
Just signed up and the title won’t play. I just get taken back to the sign up page even though it’s listed in my apple subscriptions.
Though the documentaries are good, the app lacks basic features such as the ability to return to an unfinished program, fast forward/reverse, recently watched, etc. If you want to watch a series over time, there is no easy way to track progress. Very disappointing. Substantially reduces the value of a paid subscription.
I like the idea and the content, but I would really love to have the +10sec and -10sec controls when watching an episode. Just like Netflix or YouTube have on their videos. Sometimes I zone out for a second and miss a bit of an information. That’s when I need to go back just 10 seconds to catch it but I don’t seem to be able to do so in an easy, quick way.
I would probably have kept the subscription but the app didn’t work properly half the time. I had the audio of a show not stop and when I tried to play a new episode the sound played over top. Another time it has an echo and then another time had the never ending spinning wheel.
If you’re like me and you signed up to this because you watch a lot of documentaries related to history on YouTube and what not, Don’t download this history documentaries are very limited some of them are extremely old and lots of them are foreign so you have to read subtitles. Stick with what you do already. And I stupidly bought a one year subscription so now I have an app I never use
