It seems most of the complaints of previous reviewers have been addressed, eg location is recognised and remembered, rain radar is shown, tides offered, and so on. Still full of irritating adverts, but I suppose that’s to be expected in a free app. Worth a look. SteveH

Weather accuracy is poor. I don’t know if it’s because NZ has changeable weather, or the Metservice is poorly funded. But whatever it is the overall result is that this app has shockingly bad accuracy. You’re better off looking out the window. The developer recently added CPR instructions into the app. Yes... really. If the need ever arose for it who on earth is going to think, ‘Of course! Let’s check my weather app’. Get a specific app for that. Secondly, the instructions are wrong. Current practice says untrained first aiders should only use chest compressions, not breathing. If you’re already trained, what are you doing looking at your weather app for further instructions? And finally... what untrained person understands the pace of 100-120bpm? Successful campaigns have emphasised keeping time to a song you know (Stayin’ Alive is a popular choice).

The rain radar was one of the few parts of the app that could be used to safely predict weather conditions! And it’s gone! Not impressed ...

Ok. It’s free. Well done. As a traveller in New Zealand I am perplexed by the lack of a decent weather app. This one will serve you an ad, not really recognise your location, not have your location on record if you manually input it and will give very vague ‘might be fine or rainy’ type weather data that rarely matches up with what I am seeing. Come on, you can do better chaps! This is a national embarrassment for NZ.

I love that money is being out into the app and that it had been made available for free so everyone can benefit. One feature I would like to see is the ability for anybody who has already paid to remove the ads which now take up a lot of screen space. You could also add a pay to remove ads option for new users as an alternative revenue option. The content bubbles also take up a lot of space and are very wordy. I liked the ability of the old app to sum up a lot of information without scrolling. It would be great to highlight all keys details at the top and then have the option to scroll or slide for full text descriptions if they don't fit. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

I love having all the new information which means I don't have to go to the web page to get the details. Especially love the 2 hourly wind and rain forecasts. It looks great too.

Very disappointed with this app. Much more detail available on the met website and I've gone back to using that instead of this app. I've not found its all that accurate.

Technically very good with nice graphic touches but accuracy of forecast a real problem. Next day forecast regularly wrong and even current conditions sometimes bear little resemblance to the reality. Have noticed radar does not always match summary leaving you to make a judgment call. Bottom line, as with the TV weather, it's a rough guide at best just don't plan anything based on its predictions.

Don’t recommend. The 1st page is always an ad, but usually the app gets stuck on the ad & won’t let you move past it so it’s unusable. Even when you can, luckily, move past the ad, the next page is half taken up by another ad. When it works, the app is useful, however. These problems has been the case for years! I have emailed them about this bug & the insult to our attention that the ads are and received a response suggesting nothing will change.

Love the detail and widgets. Please make an ad free version. Please consider Apple Watch version. Even just a widget. Again paid version could help fund it.
