Bummer
This is like anki, but way more enjoyable, aesthetically pleasing and accessible. However, you have to pay absurd amounts of money to progress, which is a bummer. I understand and condone supporting the creators, however, this is frankly sad. There was so much potential, really. You’re better off using anki after all.
Useful app to learn Kanji
I love the Golden Time feature the most. It really helps me focus on my most productive hours for studying Kanji
Randomly Kicked Out of My Account
I connecting this morning only to find my account logged and locked out. I tried logging back in and getting a passcode reset all to no avail. I contacted their support via the link they provided through Facebook messenger. I know others have commented on this, but it is very true that they need to get some kind of support email address or helpdesk service rather than just Facebook messenger. I don’t know what the problem is, but it’s very frustrating considering that I’ve had this app for less than a month and this happened. I also have the premium account too, which makes it even more frustrating. Update: Developer responded after about roughly eight hours and fixed the issue. No explanation was given so not sure what happened. I guess I’ll just hope it doesn’t happen again?
Limited usefulness
I recently deleted my account. It’s not a great tool for studying to pass the JLPT. Once you’ve practiced the words a few times, you will only get a few words spaced out several hours apart in the day. This is definitely not enough repetition and certainly not an effective way to prepare much less become fluent in Japanese. I reached out to support and was told that I needed to manually scroll through the list of words in my “notebook.” As you are exposed to a word it is added to a list which is referred to as your notebook. Definitely an awkward and impotent solution. Spaced repetition software should provide you with a substantial chunk of words to learn everyday. The algorithm in this software will not. I would recommend using other tools like Anki and Duolingo to become fluent in Japanese. All in all MochiKanji is a waste of time and, if you are a premium member like I was, money.

Hi my mochi app is in all Japanese, how do I get it with English I went to review and it was all in Japanese? I’m a beginner.
Issues around saving and loading
I want to like this app. I like the structure, but it often struggles to load very often. It seems to have issues saving and loading previous data.
Best Japanese App
I’m have used many apps to learn, especially kanji and vocabulary. But this app does it all- pronunciation, sentence examples, writing. And when it tests you, it mixes up the forms of learning to challenge you. It’s also so rewarding to use!
