Muscle Trigger Points

Veröffentlicht von: Real Bodywork

Beschreibung

A reference for trigger points and referral patterns for 108 muscles. Features 160 trigger points with their corresponding referral patterns, 80 conditions that can be caused by trigger points, and 25 videos that show how to release specific muscles. Each muscle includes the visual referral pattern and point location, plus a written muscle action, referral, origin, insertion, nerve, comments, and audio pronunciation for each muscle. You can choose to view each muscle individually, or use the zones view to see all the muscles that refer into a specific area (or for a specific condition). This is a great help in discovering the source of pain.
This app features all the scientifically proven trigger points and referral patterns as shown in the research.

Trigger points are tight places in a muscle that cause pain to be felt elsewhere in the body. This is great for massage therapists, physical therapists, chiropractors, or anyone wanting to discover the source of muscular pain, and learn about muscle function.

Really useful app. As a weight room regular, really helps to identify where a pain might actually be, which is not always obvious.

This is a brilliant app to run alongside my massage course.

Poor points detail

Asariah on

There is no explanation for the layperson on how to locate each point precisely - and without that knowledge it’s “pointless” to try. Also there is no explanation of what to do if you are trying to press your own points - so this is useless unless you are the practitioner- and in that case also nearly useless as you need precise guidance on how to locate each point correctly.

Well done guys. I use this App frequently to show my patients what is the matter with them. They really appreciate it a lot as they know that their condition is not as serious as they think. Thank you for an excellent App. 🤗

I am aware that the app seems aimed at professional therapists so please excuse this layman for presuming to give it a try. It’s been well worth it though!… I’m using this alongside à do-it-yourself trigger point manual to deactivate my (oh so many) active trigger points (Myofascial pain syndrome). This in turn will allow me to strengthen/stretch certain muscles in order to correct my posture (I have lower crossed syndrome which has gradually developed since the dislocation of my left kneecap three years ago). The 3D imagery in the app is great to more accurately pin point each TrP location more easily than a 2D image in a book. Each muscle group has a video which outlines a different methodology to that I’ve been following in my manual (Davies’ 3rd ed.). The navigation is simple and the imagery is clear. The videos are clearly spoken and easy to follow with good pacing. Due to my lifestyle (single mum of two, running a 95 hectare (230acre) cattle farm) with very little time to sit and relax, I find the 1-2 minute press per TrP to be easier to accommodate with good results (less pain in the TrPs and the muscles are staying relaxed for longer), than the massage 10-12 times per point 3-6 times per day which simply not doable for me. I haven’t got a clear priority to follow as to which muscles to work on first, but I’m targeting pain first (lower back - gluteus medium has done the trick, thanks!) and I’m now focusing on muscles linked to the lower cross syndrome. Walking is still painful but I rarely take painkillers now. I’ve only be using app for 2 days but it’s gotten me further than I had with the manual alone. Suggestion: I’d love to see anterior pelvic tilt in the list of problems, to give me a clearer priority list. I know it’s not necessarily a sharp pain problem but it’s chronic pain with a reduced range of motion. The problem-lists in the Davies’ manual is more comprehensive, however I can understand how a massive list could be unwieldy on a phone app. Perhaps a main menu or problem area, then sub-menus for each? Well this is the biggest review I’ve ever written! But TrP resolution is life-changing for me and nobody from my local healthcare (GP, physiotherapist (so disappointing), rhumatologist) seem to be aware of TrPs at all apart from my osteopath, but he doesn’t work them (!). So I’m tackling it myself with tennis ball and a theracane-type tool. You have my deepest gratitude for developing this app. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and a
