App needs work
When I had issues with the app showing progress that the vacuum wasn’t physically reaching, I reached out to customer support after reviewing everything online and trouble shooting. I mentioned all the trouble shooting I tried prior to reaching out, CS was of no help and relied to me stating to try the trouble shooting methods and it should work, at that point it was clear they barely read the message and didn’t want to/didn’t know how to help. The problem finally resolved itself a few days later. I’ve noticed I had other issues, one that would be an easy fix is when I get a notification stating the vacuum encountered an issue and can’t complete the task. The app sends a small message, but doesn’t state the issue. Whether it be stuck somewhere, has something caught in it, out of water, etc. A notification that states the issue would be great vs. having to log into app and play detective to find out what’s wrong. I also have carpets that are sometimes in the room and sometimes not depending on if we’re having company or if it’s rainy out. The app/vacuum will automatically clean that room like there’s a carpet there, even though there’s not? Then it will go about mopping the rest of the area or house and not mop the floor it missed. It detected bare floor there originally, and once I put a rug down it detected it and didn’t mop the carpet, so why can’t it detect that it’s no longer there now? Or if I have something in the hallway for a few days, it won’t mop/vacuum there going forward after the item has been moved? Truly tired of resetting/remapping my house and I do feel these are programming issues that could easily be fixed. The generic responses I’ve received from CS shows they are of no help which is truly frustrating.
You all know this already
The robot is great as you all know, but the software is really junky the biggest issue that I see that you cannot create a zone inside of a room, which is a total disappointment as I had it on my # NEATO , which I hated, but 10 years ago this option was present. Please #NARWAL help us all
Freo is perfect, app is meh
First suggestion - I want to see alerts but the icon is so small and the notification dot minuscule. Trying to tap on it is a chore. Also, the tips keep turning back on causing me to tap on that instead.
There is a strange disconnect between going into the app and then having to go into my Freo. It simply doesn’t make sense. Why the extra home page?
Starting jobs needs some work. Much time was spent being able to creat rooms, etc., and that shows. The basic functions, however, seem like they were written by a teenager.
Network problems
Everything was working perfectly. Randomly stopped working all together. Very aggravating. Cannot get the app to load the map or my home screen. Reset the vacuum itself, unplugged base station, deleted and redownloaded app. Nothing is working.
Works relatively well now
Earlier versions had issues with network connectivity, touch responsiveness, and area creation. I haven’t encountered any of these issues in the recent past, so I’m guessing that they’re fixed.
The app is easy to use and pretty intuitive. The only quirk that I randomly encounter is the loss of cleaning option buttons in the room/area selection screen after the app has been open for a while; closing and reopening the app fixes it for me.
Stuck on Send Account Verification Email
I received my Narwal Freo X Ultra three days ago, but it has been a useless lump since because the app never sends me an account verification email.
I got the unit, downloaded the app, selected my country and language, entered my email address and hit a “Send” button to send an account verification email. A box popped up for a second and the “Send” button turned up a “resend” countdown, but no email came. Checked my spam folder. No email. Called support. They walked me through it again. When it still didn’t work they had me try an alternate “Gmail” account. Still no email in inbox or spam, he said he’d “escalate” the problem and I got an email to that effect at the email address I had been trying to register an sc point with.
After a day with no response (not even a “we’re working on it” email, I replied to the escalation email with a detailed description of my problem in case the tech missed any details, I got back a “thank you” email, saying they’d forward my details to their technical team. Two days later now and still no communication. I tried the Narwal T10 app hoping I could use the same account for the Freo, it registered my account perfectly but alas, I can’t use that account with this app. So as of right now, I cannot recommend any Narwal Freo product or this app because you may wind up in the same boat as he with a useless pile of plastic taking up space and no one in support seeming to feel obliged to communicate with me.
No connection to the app
I cannot connect the vacuum to the app. I have done every suggested method multiple times. I’ve had it only for a few days, but this is becoming increasingly frustrating.
Poor map list management
It’s very frustrating there isn’t a way to easily switch between floor maps. It advertises that it supports 4 floors but it’s difficult to switch between different floors and you lose the ability to clean by rooms. Very disappointed with the app!
Great robot and app
Just purchased. Was worried after all the poor reviews about the app. It was VERY simple to setup the robot and the app. It mapped my 3,000 sqft house in about an hour and it was off and running after that. I set up room names, established how I wanted it to clean each room and other various settings to customize how I want it to clean the house. I didn’t experience any issues with setup or cleaning. (So far, all is good).
App is trash
Device is nice, for the price though you would expect the app to be a bit more fleshed out and functional. May return, jury still out
