Outline: Knowledge Organizer

Once Circus Ponies Notebook stopped working on my Mac after an upgrade, I was looking for something similar. Outline is not that product but I hope that it would improve. But it didn't really ever adopt the best points of the Circus Pony product and I have moved on to Omni Outliner. I need to look through my files and see whether I need them before I delete this app. I hate having "upgrades" hanging around for years, when I know that I wont make the jump.

I write creatively, and this app helps store all my chaotic thoughts. With all the folders and tabs that it allows, I need not choose another. I love this app. I recommend it to anyone else who writes creatively as well.

I have been using this app for over a year now and always have it updated to the latest version. One issue that was never fixed is that of pictures disappearing randomly from some pages within the same notebook. My notebooks are saved in the Outline folder in iCloud and I have no issues with text sync. Pictures, on the other hand, randomly disappear from notebooks after sometime even though the notebook in cloud folder has not changed a bit! You just get a broken link picture instead of the original one!

This is such a good app. Worth every penny and thankfully not subscription based, for a change. works beautifully and is easy and intuitive to use

High memory use issue can be resolved by repairing each section. It would be easier if there is "Repair all sections" option as it is hard to find which one of the sections is broken.

Highly rate this app and have been using it all the way from highschool, through college, my bachelors and now into my masters. Does everything i need well enough and hase a very clean UI. The team has slowed down on features/updates but always keeps the app compatible for new OS releases and includes new features as they become available on mac OS. This is what keeps me using this app as i know i can count on it to work without losing any of my notes after each OS update.

Outline is a great, app, not perfect by any stretch, but still a great app. I must have tried a dozen different apps of this type before I settled on Outline. The text format features are basic but clean useful, I just which I had more control over the built in styles. It’s sync capability using iCloud is fantastic, but the sync capability to OneDrive needs some work as it is less stable and very slow. The more I use it, the more I’m loving it, and the various communications I have had with the support team have been nothing less than fantastic. The Support emails are fast and detailed, but more importantly you can feel the passion the support team has for the products development. We need more quality products like this on the App Store.

I’m a fan! Outline is excellent, simple to use and I believe an uncomplicated application for users. Read the user manual, which gets updated regularly. Why? Because it helps you really appreciate what a great powerful notebook it is. I use Outline daily to organise all my notes, thoughts, tasks & key information and it helps me gather my thoughts and structure my ideas. There has been good updates too since I purchased it! I don’t find it clunky at all. I recommend Outline for the iMac user.

Have been using Outline for about 2 years now. It is now one of my essential applications (next to mail, cal, browser). Run it on a dedicated screen so I always have immediate access to it. Essential tool for both my work and hobbies.

If you currently use OneNote I would really recommend taking a look at Outline. It is just beautiful to look at at. Exceptional UI. If you are a frustrated Evernote user an import tool is coming for us Mac users as well so that is definitley another incentive.
