Philips Hue Sync

The actual light syncing works with an HDMI input. Frustration is that the phone app never connects. I cant change intensity, brightness or even unsync. Only way to stop syncing is to turn the HDMI input off. Frustrating that I had to buy the bridge, but can’t connect to it. Internet is fine, as I have no issue streaming 4K content and gaming online. App issues need to be addressed considering a spent a grand for the hardware.

The sync box and the app won’t work together at all, the sync box works with putting video and audio to the TV but won’t actually detect HDMI inputs for syncing the lights!! Waste of money if you ask me… I have no way to install an earlier version as the earliest version I downloaded doesn’t work. Thanks Phillips hue :(

Tv won’t sync with the sync box. Will be “syncing in progress” and will then stop. Very frustrating

The pricing for the Hue Sync Box in Australia needs to be addressed. It's way out of whack. USD$230 is AUD$300 + GST is AUD$330, okay… but the sync box is AUD$499 in Australia which is a $170 premium. That's an atrocious premium of 34%. I can buy the Sync Box from AmazonUK via AmazonAU, imported, and flown into Australia SPECIFICALLY FOR ME, for AUD$389, which is AUD$110 less than what I can buy it for locally. That's not right. Nevermind that there isn't actually AUD$500 worth of anything in that box. At this point, with how old the box was by the time it arrived in Australia, the price doesn't even justify the R&D. If you're wondering why Australia is such an afterthought of a market for you, maybe it's because you're screwing us.

When I connect my PlayStation it sync lights in game play but when I turn off PlayStation to watch tv it doesn’t sync lights

The developers have done a great job improving the app setup UI compared to last year when I have it 1 star. Once it’s all setup and you don’t even need the app. You do need Dolby Vision on your TV, a firmware update on the Sync box, then use HDMI port 2 not port 1, and replace the Philip HDMI cable with a HDMI 8k so you get a picture. My final setup: Apple 4K TV > Sync, HDMI 2 > Sony 9000H, HDMI 4 > Sony 9000H, HDMI 3 ARC > Sonos Arc. Full Dolby ATMOS and Vision HDR. Hue Gradient Strip & Playbars. And it’s AMAZING!!!

Im in Australia. After following the installation prompts, created the entertainment area, and then hit the sync start button, we had a lovely expansion of our screen. 7 play bars around the screen, and three bouncing off our rear ceiling, the experience was worth the effort. The sync box being only connected with our second monitor out port of our Denon 4500H. After purchasing a few units I became hooked on ambience lighting control. Now with a growing number, l find we can totally change the feel of a room by selective lighting control through brightness and colour control. We love this concept of hue lighting control.

I love my Hue lights but why should have to buy a sync device? Why can’t I use my phone or have the app on my Apple TV??

Phillips hue light system is great. But unfortunately, would be awesome to know when the Hue Sync system will be available in Australia.

Don’t really understand what philips have been doing all this time- why would I want an app to sync my lights with my laptop? Put the app on Apple TV, smart TVs, and PS4. This is not useful at all.
