Current update fixed my complaint. No longer takes forever to connect. Thanks
Howdy, Please add to this app capability to determine the end state for the lights after the sync has ended. Br. Sammy
This is the worst Hue product I own out of scores of lights and accessories. I purchased 2 boxes for two different TVs and both lose their connection repeatedly while trying to watch a show. It is awful most of the time but would be cool if not for this problem. Not recommended.
Been a fan of Hue stuff for several years, but the Hue Sync product is an absolutely disgrace of a product. We spend more time trying to get the thing working than time watching a movie. Today was the last straw after fighting with it for over an hour, it’s been removed from all TV’s in our household.
I’ve tried both apps. This one only got as far as connecting Bluetooth but never the entire sync box. Not a single helpful resource online. Why isn’t there another way, a code, anything else?? Can’t believe I have a literal brick with no functionality sitting here. It can’t be so hard to connect.
I wanted to love the app but i wish they will add option to adjust the brightness when setting up automation.
Video sync works. Music sync works for a few minutes every now and then and is great when it does, but most of the time it just randomly flickers the lights as if it is syncing with white noise. Very disappointing after spending several hundred dollars on what I thought was a high end system.
tl;dr. *For how expensive this product is, it should perform better. *I can’t tell if it’s the equipment or the app but after reading some of the other reviews I have a feeling it’s the app. *Until this app gets another update to fix some of these issues, or unless you are a masochist and like digging in your TV cabinet and “redoing” your set up every 3 months, I would do some research and find a different product. I can’t tell if this is an equipment issue or app issue but after setting up the Philips Hue Sync box along with the Philips Hue Bridge, I was able to have a well working product for about 4 months. After that, the hue bridge would not stay connected for more than 2 seconds (app says that it finds and connects to the bridge but then I can’t get the synced lights to engage the app returns to telling me to “please make sure your Hue Bridge is on and connected to the same WiFi network as the Hue sync box” (it was verified that they were on the same network). So, I went through the tedious task of unplugging and resetting everything back to originally settings and then resetting the whole system (reconnecting to WiFi, my phone, the sync box to the bridge, etc…). This solved the problem again but only for another 3ish months… For the price of the lights, sync box, hue bridge, I would expect this app or equipment to work much more seamlessly. That said, after reviewing the other reviews and noticing that this app has not been updated for 2 years, I expect this maybe a software problem. I shouldn’t have to do a full unplug and reset 4 times a year to enjoy this product. If I were you, and you want synced TV lights for a better movie experience, I would do some research and look at other products currently on the market.
Also expensively unnecessary.
