Love Pocket Casts but I keep accidentally changing where I am in my podcasts when I touch my lock screen. It’s insanely annoying. The slider controls to show your location in a podcast that appear end up with me constantly hitting it accidentally just holding my phone in my hand. There needs to be a way to lock that down. Or remove it from the lock screen.
I tried listening to 1 podcast and it was a going fine until the ads began. The ads are VERY LOUD compared to the podcast itself. Annoying and startling. Have to turn down the volume during ads, and then turn the podcast volume back up again.
I hate that I've lost my long-term stats. The app seems to be very unresponsive, especially when you switch back to it from the app switcher. this is while being run on an iPhone 16 Pro Max. to bad... 😒
If I listen to a complete episode of a new podcast and think it's garbage, let me review it accordingly. Patronizing me with a "listen for a few episodes before reviewing it please!" is quite unnecessary. I have already and want to review it!
Enough with the cutesy update notes. It’s so tedious to read what you actually changed or updated. Just write it out plain like. I’m still not going to buy your stupid premium subscription. STOP NAGGING ME. This drives me away more than it draws me in. Why do you people think constantly harassing your users to pay more money is a winning move?
After the Google podcast app retired, I transitioned to Pocket Casts. Wish I did it sooner. Love the interface. Not sure if there’s an easy way to have a particular podcast jump to the front of the Up Next list. I have my own personal up next list, but when the kids are in the car they like listen to back to back short episodes of children’s podcasts. This involves many sweeps to make a bunch of these short, children’s podcasts, go to the top of the Up Next list
I like this app but I used to be able to search within my list of podcasts. Now when I try it just searches ALL podcasts. Please return this “easy to search within my podcasts” feature! I have dozens or hundreds of favorites podcasts and when I want to just go to one I have to scroll through ALL of it.
The top thing I wish I could do is to sort individual episodes into folders. That is the feature I *thought* was included in the pro version of the app which is why I upgraded, but now I realize that we can only put whole shows into folders. That’s still a nice feature, but folders for individual episodes would be AMAZING. I use this app extensively for learning purposes, so collecting episodes into folders (or even searchable hashtags) would increase the usefulness of the app tremendously. For similar reasons, I would also love to be able to search my starred episodes.
After carefully curating your “up next” queue, this app just forgets your curation work & deletes podcasts from the queue. All that work down the drain. Used this app for years and even subscribed, but I’m now looking for a replacement. Update: Thanks for the response. I was already aware of the “restore up next” option. It was not useful. I still lost my queue and didn’t have time for a constant, back & forth search/restore process. I finally gave up. Sad, but constant frustration won here.
