I’ve used prey for years, however, it isn’t the same responsive app as it used to be in iOS. It’s clunky, dated and times out/crashes all too often.

Got my stolen laptop back with prey. Guy who stole it went on facebook so I had his name had photos of him from the laptop camera and Facebook. Got his address from the location function and a photo of his house on street view. Cops got a warrant and raided his house. Brilliant.

Since last update the app stopped working. After login any action causes a crash. It's unusable at the moment.

Obviously without having your device stolen it's impossible to say for certain that it will work. However, some people have had that very thing happen and managed to retrieve their devices, so it at least works for some! The peace of mind alone is worth the install.

Downloaded the app, provided email and password, received "activation email" with no activation link. Can't start the app. On website there is a "reset password" link that was meant to help but it also doesn't work. Can't say anything about the app itself.

Downloaded and installed the app. Filled in information. Would not work or go any further, useless.
