The app is great when it works, but the updates send it into a nosedive that require a ridiculous amount of workarounds to get it back on track

Reliable app. 97 cooks to date. That’s not to say there is not room for improvement. - Needs better notification options. The prob alarms are easy to miss. Allowing the choice from the devices ring tones would be helpful. - The charting is helpful but I’d like the line that displays the temp as you move across the graph highlighting a point to tell you not only the temp but the time if the reading. It’s difficult to tell on a phone screen even landscape.

Since the update, not being able to turn on my grill is a joke. Since this update I can’t get my grills to work or show on the app as well. The grills are on, the light says connected, but my App says offline for both grills. Seems like Recteq took a good app and has subsequently ruined it.

The remote on feature was one of the main reasons i bought this grill. I could preheat the grill from anywhere. My wife would text and ask me to turn on the grill for here on my way home so it would be ready to go when i got there. Sadly you took this function away with the last update.

App doesn’t give notifications during major holidays. They removed the remote start. One of the biggest selling points for the app vs the competition.

I’ve had this grill for years and the removal of the ability to remote start the grill is an absolute joke. We’ve come to expect government control, but now grill control?? What a shame.

Love the app. Maybe add like a to-do list for maintenance and cleaning for your grill? That way you can keep track of how bags of pellets you have used, last time you cleaned and what not. Currently use a spreadsheet

I love Recteq and their products. Their customer service is world class… BUT this new app is a big miss. First, I receive notification of grill reaching a random temperature when it is turned on. Second, the grill doesn’t always show up in the app. Third, bring back the capability to turn on the grill remotely. This was the whole reason I bought the WiFi grill.

After setting my cook at 375 from my flagship 1100 I go into the app and all looks good. I then tried to adjust to 400 but keeps reverting back to 375. Every time I close the app I’m apple to set it correctly. Controller firmware is up to date.. app is up to date on iOS 17.5.1 and connect to 2.4 ghz network. Other than that it’s been great so far.

Rectec customer service is second to none but, we all shouldn’t be punished and have our remote start taken away for whatever reason. Being able to fire my grill up and have it ready when I leave work was a huge deciding factor when I purchased my first one, then my second and third one!
