Be careful with Remarkable! I returned the tablet 3 month ago but they never RETURNED the money! Their Customer Service drags you over useless tens of emails, you can't speak to anybody! I'm just left with starting legal procedure..

You can up- and download pdfs to their cloud service by use of the reMarkable app. This manually works for selected files but it is cumbersome because there is no way to connect the sync functionality to anything else than their Connect service (based on the google cloud), Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive. For example, there is no way to configure open cloud solutions like NextCloud or to integrate webdav, no api to automate file exchange, no 2-way sync… in other words, their software is designed to enforce user lock in and make users pay for their Connect service. The app has very few functionalities and is cumbersome to use, especially if you want to synchronize a lot of files. The app is practically useless if you need to edit a large number of articles, so it is not suitable for literature research, for example.

This app is always draining my battery. I can’t understand how an app for “viewing documents” can drawing that much of battery and make my phone overheat. I can’t understand how this can be that bad. Hope one day to see real improvements.

Integrating the hand written documents into a digital form is a real improvement, not just a nice to have additional application. Many ideas come to mind in the traditional form, so that you rather need to have a pencil and a piece of paper at hand. Here is where reMarkable brings a real value added. It does nothing more than that, so that it doesn’t try to replace a PC or a smartphone, and is doing one thing very good: Integrating hand writing into the digital processing. I would recommend it for everybody who is putting thoughts on paper, being this either a traditional diary writer or a project manager. With reMarkable you can focus on your thoughts, as you are not constraint by technical limitations of you device, as you have a pencil in your hand and you can start writing or drawing charts right away. All your notes are saved and immediately available for further processing on your PC or smartphone. Your team can immediately access it, if you want to share it with the team. Congratulations!

I just bought the remarkable2 and I can’t upload pdfs on it, I tried pressing share and looking for the Connect symbol but it isn’t there. How is this acceptable? So I cant upload pdfs then?

I have now been using the remarkable for a couple of days. I purchased it for making notes and reading ebooks. The device was a dispontment for me from the very first moment i took it out of the box: - With the type folio the thing is very heavy despite very limited space for writing - The pen feels cheap and flimsy. Fo that price you would expect something more decent - The rubber function on the pen is a bad joke - it is so bad that i wonder why there is not more outcry about it - Even my ten year old kindle is less pixely - the resolution is simply not good enough - i don‘t like the writing experience - it is 10x better on an i pad (not precise) - Material of the cover is cheap, stinky plastic - Attachment mechanism of the pen is not good - you will be constantly searching for it in your bag - The type folio is also quite bad - it is not half as good as on a normal lap top - The app is only as useful as the device - set-up process is ok but could be done better I really don‘t expect a browser, apps or anything on the remarkable. It should be a good device for writing, taking notes and reading. The only thing it usable for is reading. I will send the device back and hope that there will be something useful out there in a couple of years.

Ich versuche bereits seit 30 Minuten auf einfache Art 20 PDF vom iPad auf mein reMarkable zu transferieren. Der einzige Weg wie es funktioniert hat ist, jedes PDF individuell zu öffnen und dann via Teilen in die reMarkable App zu laden. Ich würde erwarten, dass man alle PDFs auf einmal transferieren kann.

iCloud integration fehlt! Schreiben auch auf dem iPad ermöglichen. Looos! Eure Produkte sind teuer! Ich will was davon haben.

App installiert und registriert. Remarkable verbunden und trotzdem keine Doc synch möglich- Netzwerkproblem - Egal, on über Wlan oder 5g. Das bei dem Preis- leider ein NoGo!
