Terrible app experience
Why does this app take 10 minutes to load and turn on? Worst iPhone experience ever. The desktop experience isn’t perfect but is miles better. And are we ever going to get an iPad version?
Ja, Routine ist komplett kostenlos und enthält keine In-App-Käufe oder Abonnements.

I’m neurodivergent and in a PhD program so I regularly swing between hyperfocus/ needing to catch a random thought*/ hyper organized/unorganized. I have tried probably 10 personal knowledge management, calendar, or list apps - even paying for the premium in some - and none worked for my brain the way routine does (TickTick, timo, notion, click up, asan, Monday.com, etc). I do use it in combo with obsidian (main note-taking app on my computer), google calendar (was my main calendar, now use it to view on my ios b/c I prefer the month view widget), and outlook to-do (for phone checklists like groceries). Though this sounds chaotic, it’s better than it was and routine has filled a sweet spot for managing my work tasks, personal to-dos ✔️There’s a calendar ✔️There’s to-dos. ✔️There’s notes. (That use mark down, making them way more functional than any other hybrid app I’ve used that tries to add notes) ✔️ Easy to add your to-do items to your calendar (drag and drop feature is superior compared to other apps that do this, but I think that’s primarily on the computer) ✔️perfect for time blocking ✔️✔️✔️ capturing a random thought without stopping what you’re doing (on computer) *see star above I think it was developed as a computer app first, and most of the best features are there. For me, that’s okay because that’s where I do most of my work. I primarily use routine to organize my work to-dos, personal to-dos, time blocking, etc. which is what was missing from my previous work flow. I landed on a combo of google cal (my previous main calendar, and I prefer the month view widget on my phone), obsidian (main note-taking on my computer, but could be replaced by routine soon with some upcoming features they’re adding to the notes), and outlook to-do (for phone checklists like groceries). This sounds chaotic, but if you’re like me and already use a combo of apps for organization but they’re not totally meeting your needs, routine might fill the gaps as it did for me. The most important features for me (that makes it superior) are: the ease of dragging/dropping to-dos from lists to your calendar Superior computer app Intuitive, simple, and intuitive combined view of to-dos and calendar (obsessed with how there’s a to-do box under each day on the week view where your to-dos for thy day live even if they don’t have a specific time - feels like something I missed from paper calendars that I haven’t seen in online options) THE DASHBOARD!! hands down the best
Routine is great conceptually as it’s a one of a kind task, note, and calendar platform. It’s super useful to be able to utilize it across various devices and integrate platforms like Notion and Google Calendar. However, as I’ve been using the app, I find that the bugs that it has renders it useless to me on my phone. The best that I can do is create and edit notes tasks, and calendar events from my laptop and use my phone to only view them, but this is extremely annoying because if I am able to use the app on multiple devices, I should be able to use the features on multiple devices as well! When using the phone application I’ve run across issues such as tasks from a checklist duplicating, calendar events not saving, overall issues with typing and editing things which ruins it completely. I really hope that in the near future, these bugs can be improved because Routine is so fresh and it can definitely go somewhere with its features and concept.
Let’s just start by saying I NEVER write reviews. In fact, this is only my second one! I’ve been on a search for THE task/note/calendar tool for what feels like years, and I think I finally found it. It has a great looking interface that has all the features I need (notes, calendar, tasks), and the best part, it doesn’t feel all bloated and confusing to navigate. All the big ones like Todoist, TickTick, etc are great tools, but they’re all almost overwhelming for the way my brain works and I give up on them after a month. Then I’ll download again thinking I figured out a better system to use the app, and give up again. Then there are things like Structured, Brite (super bloated), and visual day planners, but I just simply don’t like the apps for various, albeit minor, reasons. Routine finally brings together everything I need and want in a life/work organization app, and it’s super sleek with great widgets too. Fantastic job already, and I can’t wait to see what’s to come!
Great design, I appreciate the developers for their work. My favorite productivity app. Thank you for keeping it updated.
.
i love routine, it’s been my daily ever since it had first came out. as a day one fan of this app, it’s treated me well on desktop and never gave me any issues. BUT, when i had downloaded the app, i noticed it takes about 10-15 seconds to load in, never the less once i finally do get in, i like to update abit of my tasks through the app, and with that comes editing the tasks and switching things around the schedule, but its given me a few bugs that i hope routine could fix, never the less, EASILY RECCOMEND
This app is awesome. They are doing something very interesting and I’m a big fan. I think this app has a lot of room to grow, but you won’t regret picking it up today and using it right away. I really like the task managing aspect of this app and how easy it is to schedule things. One thing that would be nice that they didn’t have last I tried is the ability to make tasks reoccurring.
Been loving the system of routine, but it’s not useable until they make sure all data that the user ever creates is synced with the cloud. It’s the worst when you take a bunch of notes then log in the next day to find them gone. Wait to use until it’s more stable.
If I wanted to have a google login on my phone, I’d get a Pixel. Currently, can’t even test the app. Fix this and maybe it will be usable. Also, why tout how great you are at privacy when we all k ow how abysmal google is? Kinda slick there; I’m suspicious.
