Oceanic+ Ocean Dive Smartwatch

Have done about 20 dives, great app!!!

Very intuitive app, great visibility underwater with with no need to interact with the app during the dive as it guides you through all the safety stops and automatically times and warns you to get you back to the boat safely.

The company spends exponentially more time writing fake reviews and suppressing real ones than actually improving the app. It’s hard to know where to start in outlining all that’s wrong with the app but to even do so would miss the mark. It’s not the app that’s the problem. It’s a toxic company and here is a textbook example that draws a picture for you; The app used to have a photo/video editing feature that included a relatively decent auto-enhance mode. They actually removed the feature in favor of putting it behind a paywall that only users/purchasers of their iPhone dive housing have access to. Yeah, not kidding. Even if you’re a subscriber, and paying to use the app., they took features away. This company focuses on one thing above all and that is generating revenue. NOT creating value that inevitably generates value. And, all those replies to negative reviews that say they really want to hear from the reviewer… 😂🤣😝 no they don’t. No… they don’t. They’re not good people IMO.

App automatically updated to version 3 during trip - active subscription status lost, tissue saturation status lost, watch app defaulted to free mode. Tried everything before paying for another subscription which finally unlocked scuba mode.

Amazing combination of housing, phone and watch!!! Everything works easily and seamlessly!!!

Using the full iPad screen would be a really nice improvement. Still problems with synchronisation.

Just installed version 3.0.1 of the app and I’ve seen continuous improvement of the app as a dive watch and in the oceanic plus camera housing over the course of a year In my first outing November 2023 I had one lock up of the dive watch app entering the water with version 1.x. Back to surface and restart of the app fixed to. Roll forward to a 12 day liveaboard Sept2024 and the apple watch app worked flawlessly. I. Now have 75 dives on the watch using the app and could not be more pleased. It is easy to read (day and night dives). Easy to access info, and records all the dive stats for time, temp, ascent etc during the dive back into the iPhone. Far easier to change gas settings than my trusty Aeris Far easier to read. Only comment I might make is that the Apple Watch is more conservative than my Aeris. It says I have about 5 minutes less bottom time at 100 feet on air than my Aeris which i still tale with me as backup dive computer. I did have issues using the oceanic dive camera housing this fall because it would not activate without an internet connection. The have solved that problem (after my dive trip in Indonesia). I wasn’t happy to run into that issue on some dives of a lifetime. But he good news is that oceanic has been listenig and making the app better.. significantly Love the watch app. I’ll update my review on the camera housing after a liveaboard trip that’s coming up soon. (And using version 3.0.x of the app. I tested setting up the camera yesterday and it went fine. It’s a very easy process by the way. Lots of prompts to get it right and make sure you have not forgotten anything. Doesn’t take long either to vacuum out the housing and test that the vacuum is holding. Camera controls are easy to use. Only 4 buttons compared to the dozen or more on my old camera housing. It uses all camera lenses on my iPhone 14 Pro Max so I get pictures at 48 m pixel which is better than the 8 of my old cannon camera and up there with those large cameras I’m using to for snapshot and movies of dive buddies and some fish close ups. More than adequate for my uses and better than what I had. I’m not a professional at this as I like to watch what I see and stick it in the brain. But it will be much better than what I used to use with all the camera capabilities in the iPhone like image stabilization etc Hope this helps
