Set List Maker

I used this app in my everyday work as a musician. Since the 4.0 update with "the new look" it's useless. Have to look for another app now..

This is the best App i have found for my needs. I am a freelance musician i play keyboards and woodwind .Before finding Sml i tried a lot of other apps,none of them even came close to SLM. I use the app to store and share set lists and also my charts and scores ,it is possible to import documents into SlM in a various formats such as pdf ,word etc. I allso use SLM to send program change and sysex messages on the fly to my midi equipment,via a midi interface connected to my ipad. The app allows you to store multiple databases with documents and settings for different projects.Within a database you can store multiple set lists.A set list can contain just about any information you can imagine as i will explain later. The documents in the lists can be used in full screen or scaled down and shown together with other information. The app is what i can only describe as modular and easy to configure.All the information on the App screen can be shared with other band members ios devices via the apps built in share function (Bluetooth).Within the setlists you can store Passive information such as key ,tempo time signiture chords ,composer etc.You can also store dynamic information such as midi program change and sysex for your midi rig ,and have SLM transmit the midi to your equipment as soon as you touch the "next"song on the list .The app even has a midi learn function that makes geting program change inf from your equipment a breeze.There is also a metronome if you are that way enclined .The app will allso scrole your documents at a predetermined tempo if you want it to. It is a breeze to use on stage. Just set and forget before your gig.It is also easy to change the set list order on the fly if you need to. Before version four setlist maker was good . Now at version four it is excellent.The apps creator Arlo is very quick to reply to questions and is very helpful.

I did not thought that it was possible for me to find a software that would help me to have all I need for a gig in one place. I perform with guitar, Yamaha Tyros and a piano. Singing with Duo. The great handle of PDFs and the Song database, set list and show list makes total sence. No more fuzzle with papers, heavy score book and the constant "Where did I put that lyric...?" Highly Recommended!

I have been very happy with the App. Support on the couple of times I have needed it has been swift and accurate. Does exactly what it is supposed to do and provides more than adequate functionality for my needs as a gigging musician with constantly changing and updating sets with multiple bands.

Response to developer: Just because you announce something six months in advance does not make it right. You have changed your original product and its functionality (as many have paid for) in order to force people to move to another product with a monthly subscription. It’s wrong. When Bandhelper reaches is it saturation what next? Update: What a scam! Create a great app, get everyone to buy it, and then make it worse so you are pushed to buy his other app with a monthly subscription fee. Guess it wasn’t working that well because now he takes away syncing which is what buyers have already paid for. The price of this app has also gone way up - I’m sure to force you to do the same. I will not buy BAND HELPER for this reason and encourage others to do the same. I will be filing a complaint with Apple. Feels like extortion to me. ————————- This used to be the greatest program - worthy of awards. I have recommended it to many musician friends and colleagues. With the latest major upgrade I now hate it and it seems to be the consensus with those that I have spoken with. The problem with the latest version is that too much time is spent on unnecessary configuration and formatting. That's what programmers are for. The whole look and operation is now uncomfortable. What used to be a no-brainer, simple to use program now requires a learning curve. Not that I can't figure it out, but I find myself spending way too much time trying to configure the software and it takes time away from what it's really all about - the music. I have been using the new version for weeks now and I still get frustrated at every gig. The fact that you need to watch videos to learn it and are instructed to do so speaks volumes. We all finally decided at our last gig to ditch it. What a shame. I will probably still archive my lyrics and music library here but can no longer recommended it for the performing musician. Back to printed set lists for a while. There is a lot here but much is really unnecessary for most performing musicians. Ideally, I would like to see the old version come back and then offer this version for those who have the need, desire and patience to spend the time it takes. I have a lot of respect for Arlo Leach and his programming abilities but this version is more about the programming than the music. As the old saying goes "if it ain't broke don't fix it." I need a Set List Maker!

I’ve been using Set List Maker on my gigs for over 10 years almost on a daily basis. The app is essential to my work as a professional musician. Unlike some apps SLM has never been abandoned by its creator. It’s constantly being developed, new features added, regularly updated. Any problems or suggestions bring immediate attention and fast solution by Arlo and his team. Plenty of helpful information in the tutorials and forum.
