Spa Control - BWA

This app needs to be updated. The connection doesn’t always work…….sometimes the app works other times it doesn’t, very spotty and I have a strong connection to router. Would be great if you could control all spa settings and features from the app. Hopefully they can introduce this in a future version.

If there are plans for a new release here are some suggestions for improving the app. 1. Allow ability to change wifi connection. I have more than wifi connection in my home and if I want to switch to another connection I can’t. 2. Push notifications / alerts if hot tub throws the GFCI breaker. 3. Allow access to many of the other (if not all) of the other options available thru the control panel. 4. Ability to select the LED colour without toggling the light button until you get the selection you want. 5. Automatic syncing of clock time with mobile device on power up.

App works ok and is mostly reliable. However it could be a lot better. If the developer is listening here is how it could be made better: - Push notification/email on low temperature or faults etc. - Maintenance reminders pushed to phone. - Replace the stupid rotation thingy to set temperature with up/down buttons or by typing it in. Its easy to lower the temperature by accident. - Ability to lock setting (e.g. temperature) as these things are not often needed to be changed. - Automatic syncing to phone clock. I’ve forgotten to do it a few times on reboot or power outage. - Ability to set a light colour or function. Rather than mimicking the silly on off function on the spa controller. A firmware update to improve this on the spa controller would also help the user. I had an Arctic Spa before and I miss some of the functions mentioned above.

Once you ensure that the Wifi signal to your Spa is strong and stable, it works perfectly. In my case that meant installing an outdoor Wifi repeater and mounting the Balboa Wifi module on the side of the hot tub itself (signal was flaky when the module was inside of the spa enclosure). It’s great to be able to control all of my spa settings from literally anywhere I have an Internet connection!

We use up at our ski chalet and it's pretty useless. We want to be able to turn up the spa the day we go up, but it seems like it will never work over the internet.

This barley works on a good day … the sakes people are one step lower than real estate agents .. it runs all the time and it won’t connect .. now I find out after spending 650.00 it’s the wrong device for my hot tub and if I have the original box a year later I can return it… it like 1985 hot tub people are losers and scum

Can’t log in and can’t reset password.

Tells you if motors are running and temp but lacks pretty much all the expected features like scheduling, fast away settings. I big disappointment

Our expectations were higher when we purchased this add on to our swim spa. Much frustration in the initial setup as well.

The only way this app works is to reset the spa module EVERY TIME you use it. Which makes the app completely useless. The spa module will not connect to your home network. I’ve tried connecting to both TP LINK and Google mesh router and neither of them worked. This is by far the worst “smart” device I’ve ever had the misfortune of buying! Balboa Water Group is 90’s technology. Stay away!
