Because that’s impossible. But this is mostly a useless app. You can’t set the temperature precisely. You certainly can’t get any useful help trying to figure it out. There are modes to choose from for heating, but no clue what they mean. You can’t adjust the lighting. On or off slow flashing. That’s your choice. You can’t adjust the speakers, which are essentially useless because one is barely audible while the other is too loud. You can’t find information such as how to get to the filter, because there’s a web link that doesn’t work and can’t even be copied and pasted. The app is pretty much useless, much as the spa itself.
At this point, it feels like the app has been abandoned, which is disappointing for such an expensive product. It rarely connects, even in local mode, and the GUI is not attractive and counter intuitive.
The app frequently fails to connect to the BWA server, thus disabling remote control. You can’t log in remotely either— you have to log in locally and hope the app doesn’t disconnect to maintain remote functionality. Poorly designed application.
This app could use some updating. My top request is a timer function to set the temperature so that it does not have to be done manually. Balboa development team, please please take note of my request.
The initial setup is pretty bad, feels like an app from 2010. The functionality is decent enough though. Not impressive, just functional.
The App works well As a back up if your controller fails, assuming you purchase WiFi capabilities with your spa. However does not communicate any Alarms or other info from the spa that it could. Just pumps and lights on/off and temperature set point. This would be helpful if it told you more info.
This has so much potential but fails miserably. Connecting is a hit and miss. The controls are remedial. This best thing for this app is to correct all the issues with the connection both locally and cloud connect. Balboa should also partner with an fitness group like Lululemon, Peleton, Nike, etc. the app should have exercise programs in it, so that the keys can increase and decrease for a particular timed workout. A HIIT workout for the pool. It would elevate this app.
Not the worth the money to add this to a hot tub. Rarely connects. Freezes when it does. Barely any options to do anything.
If you don’t remember five random questions to reset your user id that set up the first attempt to make this unreasonably complicated set up process you’re in the same boat as I am. I do not remember what restaurant I happen to like five years ago. They have chosen a reset password process that would rival in a bank, leaving me to wait for customer service to get back to me. I have the time on my hands to leave a review of the frustration of what should be a very simple process. The sad part is, once I do get this to work, I don’t really think it’s that useful. It doesn’t provide any real value.
