Still great, always great. I’ve been using Strongbox for several years and wouldn’t be without it. I keep hundreds of passwords for myself, clients (who keep them on paper or never write them down because they’ll remember), agencies I volunteer with, family, and so on. Great interface, kept up to date, Open Source!!!!!! Using kdbx format allows me to access passwords across all devices and OS. Thanks Strongbox.
There was a problem with the new iOS update that it was crashing. However, the team responded to the email instantly with the fix. Amazing service great job guys thanks.
I am using this app already for few years. Well designed, has lots of nice features, easy to use, runs smoothly on my phone and computer. Also need to mention that the technical support is very good, friendly and helpful.
Every few years I have had problems transferring the database to a new device within a Famly Sharing circle. The personal help and support to resolve issues is nothing short of phenomenal. The app itself is extremely useful and user friendly. Highly recommended.
This app perfectly accomplishes what it was built to do, lots of options, heavily optimized, integrates seamlessly with my setup, looks amazing and has active development team. 10/10 goated app
Strongbox is a great solution for password management. The archive is completely offline and it can be stored in an common online drive. The support for multi device is great and the integration with the browsers makes it easy to use. I’m impressed how well this app is done and maintained.
Excellent PW manager and easy to use.
What I love? Email field is first class, column view (including Email and Tags), no-nonsense tag editing, no-nonsense custom field editing, password generation exactly the way I want it, great favicon source(s), tabbed view of databases, drag and drop between tabbed databases, Zero variant, system AutoFill, KDBX data format, etc. Did I have any concerns? shared accounts, but the takeaway is that so long as you rely on Face ID or Touch ID for the databases on those devices, it should meet your expectations for less technically inclined family (including AutoFill and QuickType being aware of multiple databases). For context, I'm a long time holdout from the 1PW7 camp. I was nervous about the leap, but now I'm not looking back.
I was looking for something to replace 1Password, since 1Password 7 started giving me problems and I refused to upgrade to 1Password 8. I was mainly looking for a password manager that offered multiple options for storing databases. Strongbox does that, even offering a local option, along with being functionally highly customizable and offering multiple ways to organize your entries. I am happy that Strongbox allows you to organize your entries using both folders and tags. 1Password ditched folders in favour of tags. While I didn’t exactly mind the change, I did wish I had the ability to keep certain entries out of sight until needed again without needing to archive them. Having both folder and tagging options allow me to organize my entries the way I truly want to. I also like that you can view all entries that have One-Time Passwords enabled in their own section. The more ways to view your information, the better. One feature that I didn’t know I would be excited about is the FavIcon feature. Not only can you set Strongbox to automatically fetch the icon for you upon creating an entry, but you can manually fetch FavIcons (both for single entries and for the entire database), upload your own photo or use an icon from the database icon set. When manually fetching icons, if Strongbox detects there are more than one version of the icon, you can choose which icon you want for your entry. This is great. FavIcons help make entries more identifiable and I’m glad I don’t have to settle for a default database icon if there is no FavIcon automatically available. One thing I will say is I wish it would choose the higher resolution option when it is automatically fetching. It tends to choose anything 64x64 and under, even if a website has higher res options available. All in all, I am very pleased with this app. I can say more, but then I would be typing forever.
