Proton Drive: Cloud Storage

It acts like you'd expect; I've not come across any bugs. Anyone that wants a not self-hosted yet still privacy respecting alternative to Google Drive would be happy with this, and I recommend people try it if they're on the edge of getting it or not. Proton's a good company too, so paying for this supports a good cause. One feature that would be nice, however, is to allow file compression on/pre upload. Matrix should have a lossless, stealable compression algorithm. And I had one bug that resolved itself within 10 minutes of installing the app: being unable to save images/files from iOS. Anyways, I'm glad to see Proton's trying to make somewhat of an ecosystem. If I get money to spare I plan to support them. I can't wait to see the Proton computer and Proton car next (have to beat Apple to the iCar).

I don’t understand why 1, it doesn’t create a folder specifically for my iphone uploads and 2, seems to just stop backing up when I switch to another app. Im not going to keep it open as the app im looking at for 10k images. Really disappointed. Also needs to backup automatically each image as I get a new one.

but there is no landscape mode for iphone 15 pro max. allow us to view complete files names in full in tiles or list.

I am a Proton fan and subscriber. However, this app is subpar and performing very poorly. Others have spoken about the photo sync issues (my photos have not been uploaded for over a month now). But the main issue to me is the fact that often my files are simply not accessible from the app. Either it tries to open a pdf file and fails, or opens it but it is empty (zero kilobytes). How to fix it? Delete the app and reinstall it. Extremely annoying and unreliable.

Missing a ton of feature that Google photos has. Security and privacy are nice but it will be hard to give up things like creating Albums and editing photos backed up on the cloud. Also why doesn’t my computer folder appear under the menu like it does on the web or desktop version? Do I have to use the My Files tab instead? Hopefully these features can be added faster than it took to get photo backup working.

Photos are duplicated on upload. No background synchronization. Slow uploads in general. Photos not available in desktop app.

Each photo is imported twice. With the latest update the photo icon disappeared. Has the fonction been removed ?

I like using proton drive as a part of my subscription; the app needs a few improvements however. Despite paying for a service, iOS users still can’t backup photos automatically but Droid users can. I still use the old app on my phone since I can select and upload any number of pictures but this version limits uploads to ten. I also prefer the spacing of folders in the older app; they’re close together and can see more on the screen. The UI is consistent with the computer app, which makes it easier to use.

i have not much usage for drive rn with how inconvenient the file transfer process is on ios which is the most accessible platform to me right now so the photo backup was the only thing i really was looking forward to...at least allow me to test the beta version that was allegedly in the works
