Mijn oefen app

Ik ben een LaTeX beginner en gebruik deze veel om tussen de bedrijven door even te oefenen en om voorbeelden op te zetten. Werkt 100% voor mij.

Great companion for TeX on desk/laptop

Great editor. Works seemless with TeX on desktop/laptop. Compiles about everything. Sync with dropbox. Unfortunately not (yet.) compatible with iCloud. I really miss that.

great app

This is a great app and surely worth the price. I'm using it to write my PhD thesis and having the possibility to take it anywhere. Works great with the dropbox sync and compiling.

Works great!

I'm currently writing my PhD thesis, while spending time on the train regularly. Although we theoretically have wifi in our trains, in practice the connection is utterly crap. So I was looking for something that could handle latex and that could work offline. Added bonuses are that you can add your own packages and that it syncs with dropbox!

Really great app!

TexWriter is a great app! My TeX files compile flawlesly on IPad. Just what I've been looking for. The editor is very very good. Especially, the way the text is shifted from under you finger when you are positioning the cursor.

No support

The package developer has completely ceased their internet presence in all ways. This package will probably never be updated. Buy something else.

lack of support

There have been no updates for a couple of years and it seems impossible to access documentation on website. What used to be an excellent app no longer is. You used to be able click PDF file to go to relevant place in tex file but this no longer works after a recent IOS update. So sorry that what used to be an excellent app is now so outdated.

Very disappointed

This is a very primitive app. You can’t even navigate to folders elsewhere on the iPad. Go with a free program first and see if it works for you.

Sync broken

The app is the best iPad LaTeX app I've found (at least when Dropbox sync works)! The Dropbox sync is relatively clean once I figured out how it works (I have to sync manually using the "Sync" button in the "Open file" menu), it has tools to download desired packages, and it compiles offline. The interface takes some getting used to but is quite usable after that. The problem is the sync: my iPad is not my primary computing device, so I would like to be able to cleanly move from my computer to my iPad and back. Dropbox sync is buggy: I have to manually sync the files, and when I do, usually I get an error message and have to unlink and relink to Dropbox. OneDrive sync doesn't work at all. That is, I have a OneDrive account through my institution that I sign into using SSO, and the OneDrive sync in this app refuses to acknowledge that my OneDrive account exists. No sync to Box is available. So the Box synch is about as functional as the OneDrive sync but at least it doesn't pretend to exist.

Clunky interface; no help on ussage; works OK

Don’t do a lot of Latex and anything serious I would do with TexShop on my computer. Tex writer seems to work although I can’t get the minted package to work. My main complaint is if there is any way to start up a fresh tex file from scratch (as in new file) I can’t figure it out. I generally open ivim and do the basics there; write it to my file system on the ipad; and then open it in tex writer. That works but seems like there should be some way to do it all native.
