TeX Writer - LaTeX On The Go

Note you cannot singe in to the oneDrive if you have a school or a work account. Would be great if it’s possible to sync with the iCloud.

Compiling works for simple latex-documents. But: the editor can't be configured (e.g. font size can't be changed). No live preview as in other available apps. Loading additional packages ist too complicated. Compared with other, much better app, it is too expensive.

Excellente application pour travailler avec Latex. Depuis que je l'ai installée sur mon iPad, je n'utilise presque plus mon ordinateur!

I'm using TEXwriter for quite a long time now. It works great and I wonder how you manage to make such a functional LaTeX Distribution which is so small and simple. How about a OS X version :-)

Dropbox is easy to set up. A lot of LaTeX features are supported. More colors for commands and spellcheck would be awesome.

The design of the app is great. I'm able to work anywhere with my iPad. I would suggest to improve two things: 1) to allow working with some other clouds than Dropbox and 2) to be able to use pstricks and tikz packages. Great app, well done!

Thanks to this app I can go to conferences with just my iPad and update my presentation on the go. Some aspects of the user interface need getting used to, like the two-finger text selection, but once you know the tricks, it works great. After some time playing with it, I understood that the user interface is very well thought through and designed for efficiency. Customer service is also very responsive.

Does everything I need!

It's a great application! You can do almost everything you'd have done with your computer. A useful upgrade would be the possibility of using latin1 instead of utf8 as document's encodage.

Tex Writer ist ein zwar deutlich eingeschränkte, aber grundsätzlich brauchbare LaTeX-Schreibumgebung für unterwegs. Der Editor ist sehr spartanisch. Er bietet zwar eine vereinfachte LaTeX-Code-Eingabe, hier wäre mir aber eine Unterstützung von TextExpander aber lieber. Die Dropbox-Synchronisierung funktioniert gut. Grösster Nachteil: bei der Installation fehlen praktisch alle essentiellen Pakete. Die können zwar mit viele Handarbeit teilweise nachgeladen werden, aber benutzerfreundlich ist anderst -- hier muss dringend nachgebessert werden, dann erhält die App auch einen vierten Stern von mir.
