Messaging doesn’t work
Their messaging app is very laggy. No autocorrect also, so it’s nearly impossible to use on mobile. I’m not the first person complaining about this in reviews so I don’t understand why they won’t fix it.

advertising for a job is easy on desktop but via app is frustrating. it would not let me write anything myself it would only use what the AI suggested 👎🏼
I can never use this app since it’s constantly being updated. I use it once a week, and every time I come back to it I find that it requires an update. May as well delete and just use a PC
I don’t know if I can be considered a fast typer but Upwork doesn’t catchup with the writing and I can only do it on my laptop. It changes words and jumps back in some section by deleting some previously written words. This is slightly annoying.
App doesn’t type properly when DM’ing freelancers. I can type this review without a problem but for some reason there’s a lag when I DM, sometimes it doesn’t recognize a tap. It just makes it very cumbersome to text and respond. Giving 3 stars because the core functionality of the app is meant to be communicating with freelancers which it cannot do. But the underlying service is fine.

In essence, Upwork's security policies create an imbalance in the freelancer-client dynamic, leaning heavily toward client protection at the expense of freelancer opportunities and satisfaction. I hired someone to do a quick job, but after hiring this person said they wanted paid outside of Upwork. I realise that’s something I should have made a point of discussing before hiring. That wasn’t the problem though. I decided to fire or un-hire that person and the payment was returned to my bank. Then after I tried to hire someone else the payments where blocked from all my cards and I’ve no idea why. I don’t know how to unblock my cards and there’s no clear instructions on the site as to why. Also I feel like the customer service live chat is possibly an AI bot which isn’t ideal. Just sends out generic help without trying to actually find out what it is you’re actually needing help with.

Freelancers “working” there all scammers, customer service all a bunch of ridiculous kids. Never pay upfront, just run away from them. Shocking.
As a day trader, this app has helped me to find the best programmers globally and has fast forwarded my career significantly by being able to quickly find a developer to implement a strategy. I give this 4 stars only because there's no ipad version.
