Wemo

The recent updates to this app (or lack of firmware updates) appear to cause a loop in the device connecting to the server (I’m guessing) because it now runs so hot as to constitute a possible fire hazard. The device works precisely as before but, even without anything attached, is alarmingly hot and unusable. My electrician considers it a possible fire hazard and warns me to disconnect it without delay. Not exactly what you want in an automated home device. Clearly Belkin has screwed something up as this device has worked for years with only occasional need to restore settings and no overheating until now. Going to landfill now, I regret to say

Switches continually disappear from the app making switching on & off a manual process. Little support from Wemo which is a pity as it’s an excellent product ‘when’ it does work.

The accessories may be cheaper than others, but are much worse. The app is tragic, will not connect to Wemo plugs nor even recognize them. It’s useless.

Works great most of the time but can’t seem to handle daylight saving change of hours.

Have used this for several years, very easy to setup and use. It works both locally (as in at home) and remotely (as in out of country)

Would not recommend these, very difficult to set up. Bought the camera and they stop the service soon after, very disappointing. Alternatives are available that work better and cheaper. This product is poor

I bought a Wemo Insight switch, plus a controller/two bulb pack two years ago. The app is quite good but I’ve docked two stars for the following: 1. If there is a power outage, sometimes you have to reconfigure the app, which is a pain. 2. I cannot set a timed on/off sequence and an auto-off sequence on the switch at the same time. Needs some work by Belkin. Otherwise very reliable. Update April 2020. Using it for nearly five years now and after a change of router the bulbs have keeled over. Not good enough. The Teckin software and switches are far superior - and cheaper.

Last update on iPhone XS Max not working at all. I just going mad how it’s bad. Last update. So I have bulbs and I can’t use it. Hmm. Nice. Is it going to be fixed?please

Switches work well but the app is terrible ...never picks up the switches ...constant issues ....fix the app

Usual issues, the Wemo plug only works on local wifi, as soonest you leave the house the device is unreachable. Whats the point of that. You would think Belkin would be better at sorting out the remote access.
