Why anyone buys Wemo smart plugs is beyond me. They don’t play with mesh wifi networks AT ALL.

The think tanker who conceptualise this is brilliant…

And it requires a tedious registration process. Why can’t I just login with Google / Apple ID?

First of all, to create an account just for my device is annoying and stupid. Secondly, can’t seem to load my device even tho I manage to connect to the plug’s wifi. The page just keeps telling me that it’s connecting and doesn’t load. Can’t even set it up at all. What a waste of my money!

I don't understand. It just won't connect to Google Home. I am able to set up account with Wemo and manually turn on and off devices via the wemo app. But it will always say something went wrong when I try to connect it to Google Home app.

I liked my wemo plug until Bellini decided I needed to create an account. An account that delights in erasing log in data. Software is now useless. Morons destroyed what once was a perfectly good app

Updated to v1.25.1, now it takes longer to activate the switch and more frustratingly either rules no longer work or switches are not detected at random. I rely on the switches for crucial switching and they are no longer dependable. I have 5 of them and this continues I have to change out wemo. interestingly the older app version on iPhone 5 still works flawlessly.

Upgrading to v1.25 was a terrible terrible mistake. Setting up the account with login and the password verification was sent to email after 3hours. Was able to use smart switch the next day onwards for 1-2days and after that device is no longer detected. Will need to get up and switch on/off manually. Its no longer a smart switch. Wemo is now obsolete.
