Wemo

The app repeatedly reports device not detected but the device is 5 feet from the router. One time it has worked for about 2 minutes. Just one time. Every other time the app shows a device connected pressing a button results in the device doing nothing and the app then reporting device not detected. Firmware and app were updated today.

No second hand value as a result.

App is a pile of junk. Set up hopeless. Waste of time basically

Your thinking this app couldn’t be any worse than it is?, but somehow the developers at Belkin have put in the extra effort to render this app Diabolical WARNING don’t upgrade to this version if you already have an old wemo version that is working, this is only worse, especially if you don’t have mobile data on your phone or decent data coverage as it will essentially lock you out, because you now need a Wemo account t to turn your lights on in your own house, thanks Belkin. There’s no mention about that requirement prior to downloading Not only that, but it wont be able to remember your devices - first config I had 6, then, 4 then 3 now can’t find the Wemolink. This is a problem that happens at least every few days. Awesome, trying to reconfigure my Wemo is my all time favourite thing to do when I’m at home.

The app itself is adequate, however Belkin’s support for the WEMO hardware you control with it is non existent. I brought motion sensors, cameras and lightbulbs which have all been abandoned by WEMO. My recommendation is not to start down the WEMO path, it only leads to frustration and a waste of money.

Great when it works however I can no longer save settings.

The move to cloud-based Wemos has not worked out well. No longer able to edit rules for lamp schedules or create lighting groups. Tried a different wemo link, installed one lamp in the hope that the problems would go away. However the new link is always 'unavailable'.

Wemo App can’t recognise my internet password , I have just one , I tried like 50 times and nothing What’s wrong with the app

Wemos used to be so reliable until the recent update to the service, seems like a solution to a problem that never existed.

To be honest the switches have never failed me and I have been happy with them (though mainly controlled using homebridge) aside from the bulkiness. However since the NetCam fiasco and how badly they handled EOL of NetCam I have lost trust and ditched the platform for a service adopting technology with proven longevity.
